Anyone - just not Croker. Love the guy - he exudes character, but he's not a hooker, and never was. Terrible kicking game (all be it he tries hard). Zero spark out of dummy half (think he tried running the first few games this season). Started throwing quite a few forwards now, too (getting more and more errors in his game).

Let him play his specialist position. Jesus, I'd have him at 7 over DCE. In fact, if you get fit this off season, I'd throw you in at 7 if you're keen.

I suggest the short answer is that it will be Croker, unless these Exciting Signing rumours have some bearing on 9. I expect Des to use Lawton as 14. Des I think is cemented on: unless fired I don't see him leaving whatever Fibs Sports reckons they have to say. But I certainly hope GCKT might start being given some game time. Ridiculous for anyone to look to Croker to hit 45 - 50 tackles per game and also think he will magically set our attack alight. Ridiculous. We need to have a broader look at the question of the defensive load in the forwards rotation and the role we want the 9 to play. One possible outcome might be a 9 rotation with GCKT, and Croker dropping periodically back to Lock, Jake to Front Row, etc, etc

It has dragged on for 4 years since stabby burst onto the scene and pushed Api out...

Looks like the inclusion or possible inclusion of Roache indicates the club is looking at something more to maybe offer in the 9 role . Guess that it still shows in a couple of areas and despite some the really good efforts and input from Croker and Lawton the majority of the time they are in that role, that a manufactured 9 can have some limitations . Just the brief game time that i have seen from the junior G C K T indicate that he is a good tradesman like and smart 9 Big step up in defence for N R L level but could hopefully come with some more development . Looks again like the combo of Croker and Lawton at least initially . No problem if the right and set attacking formations can be there again but if it more an ad lib or ad hoc approach and lack of organized play again , even the best credentialed 9 in the N R L will struggle to make a difference
