Quac dropped

I think you gotta bring Humphries in if he's a right side half, despite him leaving next year. He'd have something to prove and I think he deserves a chance. Hell, if he can help us get the 2 points don't care what he's doin next year !
I guess they have to think he is not up to it? I mean we have Lawton playing and he is going next year so why else would they not play him?

Good decision by Madge.

Ola didn't do enough when he was on the field in either match, so Madge took him off quickly.
Compared to Martin, Crichton and Lenui who all run onto the ball full steam and attack.

Ola needs to learn how to run onto the ball full steam and at different angles - only then will he step up from a good player to an elite player.

Not going to debate the issue of whether Jake should be in the SOO team or not. What annoyed me about Geyer's view was the way the media reported it. It was all: "Blues Legend Calls for Captain to be Sacked". Blues Legend, eh? It might surprise a few but Geyer played 3 SOO matches. That's right, 3. And won 1 of them. Jake has played 18 SOO matches and won 10 of them. I think that makes him more of a "Blues Legend". Not bagging Geyer himself as he was a fearsome player and is entitled to his view, but the media think everyone is a stupid as they are.
Think about it. Quac has now played two games of SOO (1 behind Geyer)… should be about ready for Blues legend status eh!

Getting back to Ola, he'll be up big time for this game on Sunday. After Maguire's axing he'll be champing at the bit to tear the Noughts to shreds.
If he’s sulking about it they need to get Tooves in the sheds pre-game in Olas’ ear the whole time revving him up, reminding him that club comes first. Wind him right up, and let him go nuts!

Considering the minimal minutes that Haumole got in games one and two I thought he played really well - bent the line, difficult to tackle, and quick play the balls.
I also thought that he played one of his better games for us this season on Saturday night.

Aside from the critical miss on cotter on the line he had a strong game on Saturday night.

If he's not revved up about his axing for himself I doubt Tooves will do it for him Wombat. He'll be set for a big one on Sunday, that the whole team can feed off.

Has to pick Humphries at 7 ,
1 Hoppa
2 Saab
3 Garrick
4 Turbo
5 Talau
6 Brookes
7 Humphries
I’d love to see Humphries picked but I doubt it will happen now that we have lost him - More so I would have loved to have seen him picked earlier

Re his running style really?

His ability to slow and then accelerate into tackles is part of the reason he is do devastating with the ball. He seems to put "hits" on when running the ball thanks to his explosive style

Haumole got dropped by Maguire??

Not good for him sure, but for us it is. We'd much rather he played for Manly anyway.

Just on his running ... I'd love to see him actually run hard onto the ball sometimes. Far too often he gets the ball almost flat footed. And he can be devastating enough from a standing start, imagine what he could do running at pace more often..... :wondering:

Once Big O starts running more good lines from depth he will be one of the best backrowers in the game. At present a few too many standing starts running into defenders rather than hitting gaps at pace.
