The ladder is getting pretty tight but we are still hanging on to 4th spot after the 24 all draw on Saturday against the previously last placed Ipswich Jets.

We are still hanging on to 4th spot after Saturdays 54 to 10 win over 7th placed Easts Tigers but we'll have a tough match this Saturday in an away game coming up against Central Comets who are currently running second.

They play a 22 round competition and currently have 3 more games to go before their 6 team final series starts on Saturday 29th of August with the Preliminary Finals on the 5th & 6th of September and the Grand Final on Saturday the 12th of September at the Sunshine Coast Sea Eagle's home ground at Stockland Park, Kawana (with a bit of luck it will be the home team ending it's maiden year with a grand final win).

Well done Jethro. I am very impressed in the way they have salvaged the season and now really start to put pressure on. The Comets will be a tough one.

I agree with you on how their season has moved forward for the better after a poor start where they sat on the bottom few on the ladder. Their season has reminded me so much of the way the Manly NRL side has gone, complete with the scoring of their wins and losses and how they've kept a comparison position to Manly on their ladder as well.

Their game against the the Central Comets up at Rocky this Saturday night will be a good test for them and should be very tough.

Points wise we are moving closer to 3rd as all three teams above us lost over the weekend. We had a good win over the Central Comets (46 nil) up at Browne Park in Rockhampton on Saturday but we still are left in 4th place.

There are only 2 more rounds to go before the Finals Series starts.

Next Sunday, it is an away game (again) against 7th placed Burleigh Bears at Pizzey Park.

Things are really looking good for the Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles in their maiden year. We can finish off the season in 2nd place if we win our final two games and Northern Pride (currently 3rd) beat the Central Comets (currently 2nd) next Saturday and Souths Logan Magpies (1st) beat Northern Pride and Burleigh Bears (currently 7th) beat Central Comets in the final round.

If we (Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles) win our remaining 2 games, we end up on 27 points

If Central Comets lose their remaining 2 games, they stay on 26 Points.

If Northern Pride win next week by beating Central Comets, they (Northern Pride) move up to 26 points and if they lose to Souths Logan Magpies in the final round, they stay on 26 points.


If all that pans out the way that I hope, we end up as 2nd.

It looks like we will finish the season in 4th place after todays loss to Burleigh Bears at Pizzy Park. With only one more round to go until the finals series starts, the most we can end up on is 25 points so we can't move up any further on the ladder.

The Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles should be congratulated for how well they have gone in their maiden season. Early signs in the series looked like we were going to finish well down on the bottom half of the ladder but the guys got their act together and learnt each others game and gelled and the wins just started rolling in.

Next Saturday, it is a home game against 10th placed Wynnum Manly Seagulls at Stockland Park, Kawana.  This game is also the Saturday afternoon 2pm game on ABC1 in Queensland.
