If it transpires that all the players are locked into a Sterile area without wives, girlfriends and or 'other special friends' I see a huge opportunity for some new left field sponsors.

Big fan of the 2 conference plan being put forward by Bennett .... Northern conference , the 7 non syd teams plus one from Syd ..... Southern conference , the remaining 8 Syd teams ...
Each conference play a top 4 final series ... with the 2 winners meeting in a Super Bowl type Grand final .....

Brilliant idea that and one which is so practical and so critical in this day of increasing self isolation and remoteness. Re-opens the Foxtel / Nine monies for weekly content and broadcast. Financially a no brainer by my numbers with the delta cost of accommodation / per diem / transport for two conferences around $3m / month but bringing in $52m - $65m same month for content. Serious no brainer so hope this happens. Be nice to have the live footy back.
On another note so refreshing having V'Landy's at the helm. I understand Todd is gone just waiting for the above to settle in and things to "normalise". My question is who does V'Landy's like as his CEO??? I like the job Junior is doing with Apollo but how will he go with the club execs?? One hell of a big job there.
One of the complaints about a 2 conference plan .. will be that theoretically you may never play some teams again ... but it works for the NFL ... and imagine the hype if Manly hadn't played Broncos for 30 years ....

Coronavirus may be a bunker buster
The NRL’s video review bunker could become a $2 million casualty of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Australian rugby league reporter Brent Read told Triple M’s Rush Hour on Thursday the NRL will consider scrapping the bunker as the game looks to cut costs and recover from the 2020 season being put on hold.
The referees bunker has been much maligned since it was introduced with fanfare, placing the video review system in the one place at Australian Technology Park in Sydney.
“The contract is up at the end of this season for both the bunker and the technology it uses,” Read said.

It used to do my head in that eventually the NHL gets split into the eastern v western conference for the "final."
So you can never have Vancouver v Calgary as the big final series - I yelled!
Nope... you may play them in the initial playoffs, even a conference final, but not the big big big one.
Funnily enough, the rivalries still abound big time and I'm used to it and kinda happy with it.

How would it be determined which Sydney based team would be relocated then in a two conference set up ? Financial inducements would hardly seem appropriate in the present situation . Guess it will come down to the best case for and against consideration . Plenty of against aspects to a conference format but nothing can be specifically ruled out right now . Just hope in general that the present containment measures for the virus will be favorable enough in a few months or so to get something happening for games resuming somewhere in OZ .
It is suggested that the Syd team in the Northern conference is rotated every year ... so once every 8 years we would play up North ....

Thought that it was only a suggestion for this year's disrupted season . Pardon my lack of attention but even more so then if it is proposed for future times , really could not see the net benefit or appeal of a two conference system

Or (perhaps drawing a long bow), think of French rugby playing on through the Vichy era, whilst rugby league in France shut down.
The former suffered for years (post-War) as a result of their collaborationist ways, the latter enjoyed a boom in popularity that saw the French field competitive teams internationally for years afterwards.
