Pringer?

Is that a polite way of saying Jorge is vertically challenged
at 6 foot, I wouldn't say he is vertically challenged. Taumalolo and Frizell have low centres of gravity and they are 191cm and 185cm respectively. It's all about body shape and being big through the hips.

Couldn't agree more. I wouldn't swap Jorge for anybody. His unique prop-wing play is vital for getting us valuable metres out of the 25 metre zone week in week out and he still sniffs out a try as well as anybody in the game. He is gutsy too. Yep, maybe he drops the odd high ball, but who doesn't and how many tries has it cost us this season ... few if any. I'd be really sad to see such a great team man go - hoping it's just a groundless rumour.

I reckon hoppa was the prototype in his final 2 or 3 seasons. He did a mountain of work out of dummy half.

Yeah he did. He broke 200m with the ball regularly. I remember people wanting him in the back row. His work rate was outstanding near the end of his career.

Yeah he drops a few but so do most full backs and wingers from time to time. He is dropping them far less this season and his finishing kick returns and hit ups have been very very valuable. He gets us on the front foot and is built like a prop so defenders find it hard to stop him and dominate him in a tackle. He is also winning us vital penalties

He should see if Jerry Maguire could be his new manager. Then he could be Jerry's Pringer

Show me the money!!!!

Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve!!

Too many jokes in there. I need another beer!

It is great to see Jorge coming up with the tough carries when needed to help out the forwards.

I'd love to see him speed up his play the balls. They can take an eternity to go through which allows the opposition to set their defence line. And he does at times come in off his wing in defence to help out Kelly when he should really just stay out and mark his man.

Jorge is very much a rocks and diamonds sort of player. His running game is so effective and gets us on the front foot in most sets. It is well known that he has a weakness under the high ball and the smart halves out there will bomb him at every opportunity. I wish he would attack the ball a bit more, sure you will get mistakes but id rather him have a go, rather than standing there and admiring the kicks like he does some of the time. Overall he is proving to be very strong this season.

Jorge has been notably playing well this year, taking the ball up with his runs and taking some load off the forwards. I think its helped that he's injury-free at present. Yes he has his deficiencies, but nobody's perfect...

Like @Loobs I saw in the Daily today he's keen to stay at Manly after 2017 and I hope he does, but if Manly do re-sign him, I hope his good form continues and he doesn't regress once its signed, sealed and delivered.

Watch Barrett's training video and it becomes very clear why they bought Uate and why I think Jorge is going nowhere. Barrett is very specific in what he wanted, and he got it.

Speaking of Taufua, how many career tries has he scored. Surly he's near 100.

68 tries in 109 games - a handy strike rate in anyone's language. As someone else said, the pros far outweigh the cons. I hope he stays and would be surprised if the club didn't want to keep him.

don't tease me Woodsie you know it makes me grumpy ... could you please provide a link for we old bastards

Truth is....wingers are required to not only make hit ups off downtown kicks...but to give the forwards a breather.
The attitude of Taufua to do this, plus more, shows his attitude and love for this team...personally a massive fan.
Still think he is the BEST finisher with no room inside that 10 metre zone with his new partner Uate not far behind.
For all the negatives we can find for Taufua - love him in this Manly side.

This term would've applied to Neil Pringle too had he played on the wing.
Centre was as close as he got.

Mate, you're usually spot on with positional play - do you think Jorge would make a fist of say a backrow position, especially if the club was able to sign someone like Daniel Tupou on the wing?

Jorge defs need to be taught how to play the ball. To slow and had a negative effect on the speed of play.
