Journey Man
Well i managed to tip 6 right last week - im not as confident this week

Knights (1.60) Vs Dogs (2.35)

Joey Joey Joey. What else can you say – 70 points last week on the back of the best player running around today. Will he be able to repeat it? History tells us the answer is yes. The knights defence on the other hand was missing and the dogs will be far tougher up front that the raiders were. The dogs also had a win last week to get their season underway. In a game that got scrappy at times their forwards stood up to be counted and gave them enough go forward to get home. Sherwin is getting used to taking the responsibility now that Anasta has left and their attack is starting to take shape. It will be a much closer affair this week.

Tip: Knights – Johns is in his best form and as long as he stays fit they will not lose many

Tigers (1.95) Vs Warriors (1.85)

It’s a tigers home game but its being played in New Zealand so the warriors should have the crowd on their side. The tigers looked unstructured last week and they were missing Benji a lot. Adding to the injury list Farrah and Fulton will also miss this game. Sam Harris will continues his Manly form and dropped plenty of ball, gave away a few penalties and missed his fair share of tackles last week, expect a consistent performance this week. Sheens has moved Prince to 5/8 and brought up Ben Reynolds to cover Marshal’s absence. Isaac De Gois replaces Farrah at Hooker. The Warriors put in a patchy effort last week and showed signs of getting their first win. Continued off field dramas follow the club with props Price and Wiki’s player managers being accused of salary cap breaches. This no doubt will be on the minds of the players. It a tough on to pick I have a gut feeling that the warriors will get up but the head says tigers have the better team overall.

Tip: Warriors

Sea Eagles (1.40) Vs Sharks (2.95)

Manly are coming off 2 losses to start the season and should be hungry for a win. They put on a good showing up in north Queensland last week and almost came away with the points. Their attack still looks ordinary and Some of their class players have yet to put in a good game. This week we will see the long awaited debut of Adam Cuthbertson a Manly junior. Cuthbo replaces Leuluai who is suspended for a couple of weeks for kneeing. A large mobile forward, Cuthbo can play in the props or in the backrow. He has a Kennedy style off load and good speed for a man of his size. The Sharks threw away a 12 – nil lead last week to the broncos. There was plenty of dropped ball and 1st game jitters. Star Nigel Vagana is again missing with Dykes taking the 5/8 reigns as he did for most of last season. This game is the first for the Steve Rogers shield, named after the classy back that played for the Cronulla team in the 70’s. Add to this last years 68 – 6 debacle and the Galloway incident, there is sure to be some fire between the teams

Tip: Manly to get home

Cowboys (1.55) Vs Storm (2.45)

Two of the four unbeaten teams go head to head this week. The Cowboys demolished the Broncos and just got home against the Sea Eagles. The Storm getting away with the win and upsetting my perfect round last week getting up over the Roosters. The Cowboys are one of the hot favourites this year and have looked good so far. At home again they will be hard to beat. Matt Sing is crossing the try line regularly and has cracked the 150 tries in his career, one of 6 to do so and with Menzies from Manly the only current players to have been so successful. The Storm have found a handy replacement for Orford in Cooper Cronk. He has handled the new appointment nicely and combined with the other young star in Inglis very well. That said the Cowboys will be far tougher that the warriors of Roosters.

Tip: Cowboys to remain on top

Bunnies (3.50) Vs Dragons (1.31)

The bunnies have voted yes to privatisation during the week and both Holmes a court and Crowe have visited the camp. Things are finally looking stable off the field – this means on field results are just around the corner. Ben Walker again misses the game after the clash with the Roosters. The Rabbitohs got up in the charity shield but the dragons team was far weaker than this weeks. Another traditional slow start to the season sees the dragons with manly and the warriors as the only teams not to get on the board. This week I expect them to crack the two points. Always a good clash, this game should be highly entertaining.

Tip: Dragons

Broncos (1.95) Vs Eels (1.85)

The Broncos somehow came up with a win last week after being 12 – 0 down against the sharks. They return to Brisbane where they performed so poorly in round 1. The older member of the team seem to be struggling a little early on and probably are a few weeks away from peak match fitness. Parramatta Turned it around for a win against the last place warriors, however Brisbane at home is always a tough ask, albeit not as hard as it used to be. They have started to gel as a team and becoming more structured. Super sub Widders again crossed the tape last week to continue his impressive 2005 form.

Tip: Parra

Roosters (1.31) Vs Raiders (3.50)

The roosters let Melbourne get out to a huge lead last week and couldn’t reel them in before the siren went off. Anasta is settling in well and their attack looks more structures than 2005 already. The raiders played their part in the highest scoring game ever putting on 32 points and still losing by 38. Defence was missing from their dictionary and Elliot must have emphasised this all week. Again Smith is the danger man but can they get it together and keep the ball in hand long enough to stop Anasta.

Tip: Roosters

Bye – Panthers
