Pre season injuries 2020

A few including our own Paseka, but Lodge doing his ACL in a possible season ending injury is a Massive blow to Brisbane
Hope we get a good run in 2020, as last year without key injuries we would have been a good show to at least make the GF....and injuries could decide the fate of many teams even before a ball is kicked.

Every club focuses on players 1-17 and rightly so but Players 17-30 have a huge roll to play

How these players are integrated into the squad is important with the spread of representative games

to have players be able to step up into the squad for 1 or 2 weeks and combine is vital

as too is the ability to accept to go back down in grades when a 1-17 player returns is also vital

some players may not ever play up but will be important to the management of the squad

As seen previously we may have players who go for weeks on standby without a game at all or 15! Minutes here and there

that’s tough on everyone

jackson Hastings is an example of how not to do it

but Des ‘s attention to how importance this is hopefully gives us and edge and have fringe players lift and know their role

Packer had better not medically retire. Hes been on the outer with Madge all last year and the tigers would want nothing more than to medically retire him to protect their cap.

You can get front rowers for under $5.00 a kg or 3 for $10 at any discount store ... losing what Turbo brings to our point scoring and DCE to our overall performance ..... not so much ...

Any more injuries to our props short term would certainly create some concern , would still have Waddell to fill the breach but not his best position . Would seem like a choice between Keppie or Sipley to partner Marty for round one [ again hope that there are no more curve balls with any more prop injuries pre season ] , probably Keppie with the way he did so well in his end of season games last year . D C E and Tom Turbo are our highest paid players so of course would expect them to produce special touches and high level footy on a regular basis .

Dear Biff ... that is why we have 6 or 7 props ... because they are interchangeable and readily replaceable .... some are better than others, but the world doesn't end with one or two being out .... but the world does seem to be flatter if Turbo or DCE is out ...

Guess that it would be a case of not entirely mutual exclusive in regard to necessary and reliable go forward and momentum from the big boys up front and well credentialed play makers or game breakers who can then capitalize or their roles are made easier . Can still be very good players in their own right but also much easier to show their class with some opportunities from good go forward . Good example also would have been if Tom Turbo and D C E were unavailable at the end of last season and were replaced by Elliott and Elgey for instance , probably or most likely would not have even won the i st knock out .
