Pre Game thread: Manly v Sharks [Week 1 Finals, 2019]

Trex is the only forward on the extended bench, I reckon he is only there in case Sipley or Jack doesn’t measure up coming back from injury or there is a training mishap in the forwards during the week

would have him in over Sipley who has been out and not match fit at all big liability for speed of semi finals. 1 big game from trex is not a huge ask and would prove beneficial even just for his semis experience for the younger fellas

Bringing T Rex in is one of those selections that you feel like it Manly win the game, everyone will hail Des as a genius, but if we lose people will say it was a foolish call.

Personally I think with Marty, Sirro and Thomo out, T Rex will bring some much needed experience in the pack. And he’s also got a wealth of finals experience. Which can’t be said for most of the squad. I’m sure he’ll be more than up for the game after a long stint out.

It would be his lazy defense that would be a concern. Wade graham would take advantage of that.

I think our biggest concern will be scoring enough points, sharks D is pretty good.

I’m wary, he is experienced sure, but he isn’t an on field general or a communicator. His strength and big body are what he brings, not his game nous.

It’s an exciting team we have listed this week given the injury toll. I can’t say for sure that the boys will win but they have done me proud so many times this year and I think they can produce something special again this weekend

It’s 17 on 17* once they cross that line Mark. If we come with the right attitude, focus and application we will win this game. The sharks have been nothing short of inconsistent all year and are lucky to be playing finals.
(*13 on 13 really after crossing the chalk but you know what I mean)
