Pre Game - Manly v Warriors (2018 Round 14)

For what it is, basically made out of scaffolding, it does a good job

Can't find a photo of the old ground, I loved it. They had 2 fields in there, had a game on the number 1 ground one day which was awesome. Used to be named the killing fields because nobody could come down here and beat Canterbury

Big plus for them with johnson back. They play like a top 4 side with him in the team, have looked very beatable last few weeks with him not playing.

Wackos Whispers just now - doesn't look good for us with Shady, Horhay and Wigwam out. At least the Turbos are backing up

Sea Eagles vs Warriors

Sea Eagles could have a number of changes with Taniela Paseka (ankle), Jorge Taufua (concussion) and Shaun Lane (concussion) all expected to be ruled out with Matt Wright coming onto wing, Lewis Brown into 2RF and Lloyd Perrett coming onto bench. Jake Trbojevic and Tom Trbojevic are both tipped to back up from State of Origin. Warriors will be dealt massive blow with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck set to be ruled out after failing to recover from ankle injury, this will see Peta Hiku moving to fullback with Gerard Beale coming in at centre. Shaun Johnson will play after recovering from ankle injury picked up in Rd 9.

I would think Frankie would slot into 2nd row before Brown .... Perrett onto the bench .... and either Parker, Brown or Tom W into #14

Jesus! Put a fork in us if Taufua and Lane are out.

The jersey grabbing myth into second row. Yikes.

I backed us in this on the basis of the team named. Think I might change that idea now....

Surely Lane and Jorge must be rated reasonable chances with the 9 day turn around on this occasion . I thought that Tom Wright was listed as 18 th man , one would think that he would be the automatic bench replacement if Matt Wright had to called into the run on side and instead of Brown and similar to the Bronco's match .Only rational scenario if Brown was to come onto the bench would be to replace Frank if he was then in the run on side . The aim again of course is to actually be in a position to win tomorrow and having the best still available 17 selected surely and after the Raiders match ideally not Lewis .

Mt Smart as it was when it was the main stadium for the 1990 Commonwealth Games.

And now.

Now that's a lovely looking rectangular ground.

Poo will play as it's his home town game

The stadiums are North to South in NZ, maybe he'll thrive in his old environment 🙂

Brown will get the start cause he's the face of this kiwi trip.... A swansong game I reckon.
Baz will give him a farewell.
Unsurprising. Baz has no problem throwing away the season to accommodate emotion. Sure, let's not pick someone who can play 5/8 because of a sooky half. Sure, let's pick the worst player in the club so he can have a warm farewell. Ffs, toughen up sunshine!

Oh my goodness....
That’s like replacing Pharlap, Black Caviar, and Winx with the real Fine Cotton, Harry the horse, and the donkey from Shrek.
And that’s with the knowledge that the former players are no way near human equivalents.
Dear oh dear...

Well said... a send off for Brown because he’s heading over to his hometown and that might mean an extra 40 tickets being sold. WTF?
