If we’re serious this year and Seibold can learn from the effectiveness of a mobile pack against Penrith, this will be the team:

  1. Turbo
  2. Saab
  3. Koula
  4. Garrick
  5. Hopoate
  6. Brooks
  7. DCE
  8. Tauk
  9. Simpkin
  10. Bullemor
  11. Mole
  12. Burbo
  13. Jurbo
  14. Talau
  15. Tevaga
  16. Navale
  17. Aloiai
I like that list but I'm fairly sure we get Lodge back next week. Had a pretty quiet game in NSW Cup, but after a couple of weeks of training with the NRL squad, and in the absence of Paseka, I think he's a must.

I think Bullemor was great starting, but still plays his best footy off the bench. Personally, I'd have Lodge, Jake and Tevaga starting, with a combo of the rest on the bench. Bullemor, Taukeiaho and Aloiai are musts on the bench, and then it's a shootout between Navale, Brown, and Talau for the last spot. That's good depth now, considering we have lost Paseka.

I thought we couldn't use Lodge until something like round 11

Whoops thought this was round nine... You're correct.

In that case I hope it's Jake and Taukeiaho as starting props. Aloiai off the bench, with Brown, Bullemor, and the remaining spot Navale vs Talau.

I think Talau will be selected ahead of Navale. Given Navale only got ten minutes, I figure we can afford a back on the bench.

Navale for Brown for mine. Time to move on from the old blokes

Round 11 is when he becomes available for us

Sharks have one of the beefiest packs in NRL so I'm sure we'll take that into account in selecting our R10 side.

I wonder what discussions Seibs has had with Jurbo.
If he's discussed Turbo to centre ... and even Turbo to 5/8 he obviously is open to change. And jake to his Origin spot of starting prop is an obvious one to consider. Even us sausage roll eaters have all thought about that one. @:D
I wonder if Seibold is leaving the status quo for now to give Jake the best chance of holding his Origin spot, but with a view to moving him up front later in the season, which could also coincide with Navale being ready for more minutes by then.
(One criticism of Seibold that I don't understand is that he doesn't think of stuff)

Would have to be a serious discussion point for the Sharks game with Jass versus Jake at 13 , Bully starting at prop and Simpkin starting and big minutes at 9
Be more inclined to think that Simpkin to 9 a or should be a given , deceptive runner and does not shirk the defensive requirements , good or quite good delivery around the ruck area
Jass definitely offering more in attack at 13 but Jake still very solid in the tackling department there
Hard one , jake has progressively been spending more time in a prop role and maybe time to make it permanent in a prop role .
Pros and cons with Bully starting , just wish the club could definitely confirm re signing him on a longer term basis A S A P .
Bench make up, another quandary

If i were the Eagles management i would look at securing Bully asap, as a neutral fan i have been impressed with his workload, always gives 100% and is mobile too, would get snapped up in a heartbeat at another club

Not too sure whether there is an unofficial agreement between him and Manly to stay on already or if he continues to just not make a call on his future for whatever reason .
Would have to be some outside interest if he has not made some type of an ongoing unofficial commitment to Manly but maybe again is still undecided on his future .
Was some media reports a couple of months ago that Manly wanted to officially re sign him but nothing more since then it would seem .
Quite important member of the Manly line up now , can certainly only hope that a deal with Manly can be not too far away

Remember that when he arrived at Manly, he immediately moved Jake to prop. Unfortunately our only other lock options were Aloiai and Keppie. I would not be surprised to see him move him to prop, once we have at least three other NRL-ready lock options. Currently we have two, and Navale is slowly getting blooded in. He did look gassed at times on Saturday, so I would not rush him.

Yes. And he played Jake for 80 mins at prop. So I wasn’t surprised when he got injured.

But we will get there, I hope.

  16. Navale
  17. Aloiai
the only change there is have Jurbo in the Prop rotation with Jazz to start at 13 ,I like Talau on the bench I feel he could play multiple positions if needed .Navalle also showed a lot of promise on Saturday night and deserves a bench spot

8. Jake T
9. Croker
10. TKO
11. Olak
12. Ben T
13. Jazz

14. Simpkin
15. Bullemore
16. Aloiai
17. Navale or Talau if Saab back.

This way we start with our best defenders Jake and Croker then bring on Simpkin, Bullemore after 20min to open the game up. Bring back the defenders in last 20 if we need to close out a lead.
isnt Croker still in rehab for another 3 or 4 weeks after another knee clean out ?
