Yes, we really should win this one and I believe we will. Our backline is full of talent and Saab will help us play the one style of football our coach has in his arsenal.

Do you mean we are going to bring out our weapons of mass destruction? 😂😮 i guess they couldnt take them to Perth as they wouldnt have been able to get them through airport security.

Yes mate, that's exactly what I mean. Siebs is about getting the ball to our weapons (fast players) on the edge and letting the pace take care of the rest. It is his one and only playbook besides "a free throw at the stumps" when DCE is out during SOO. Aside from this there doesn't seem to be much else in our DNA unfortunately. It should be enough to beat the Drags if we can hold our own in the middle.

Hopefully.

It's at Brookie and we have Saab and Froggy back for this game, although some may argue that Froggy isn't a great in for us. Talau will be better for the run as well. They usually fold when the blowtorch is applied, yeah, think we've got this one.
Let's hope so. We need to start strong and score first and keep it going

Raiders game.
I wouldn't read too much into that game, for the first ten minutes we had all the ball and we still couldn't score, they get the ball and score straight away only for it to be pulled back, I can't remeber why.
We are then attacking their line and Corey Horseborough gets binned and we score 24 points in that ten minutes and the Raiders are gassed for the remainder of that game.
Lehi is not Tom at this stage of his career, and probably not likely to be, he's a different player, more silky skills, Tom has size and presence that has all the opposition players on the backfoot second guessing whenever he has the ball.

Yeah I watched the game too. My point was more that we still scored 40 without Tom.

The likely scenario is

Next game , no way
The game after , we play the Panthers back into form.

Losing against “ lesser teams “ and playing “ under performing teams “ back into form is something we’ve excelled at for the last decade.

2 more losses and we’ll around 13th / 14th snd from there almost impossible to get back.
And at what point will you admit maybe the coach has something to do with it? Or does he get a free pass regardless of results?

Potentially this could be

1) a line in the sand to turn things around
2) the end of the road and the start to a very long year.

Toss a coin I guess
Sadly number 2 I think
This year is over and has been for many months / games
We are a club in free fall and I feel this is is already over
Happy to proven wrong but does not sit right with me how we are going

Whose idea was it to play a Saturday Perth team on the Thursday? The NRL are stupid for this.
Happens to a lot of teams throughout the year. Just looking at next week alone;

Storm played Sunday arvo and have to back it up Friday night travelling to Suncorp playing against the Dolphins who have had an 8 day rest.

Souths played in Perth Saturday night and have to back it up Friday arvo, while not as bad as our turnaround they come up against a team who had the bye.

No excuses.

yeah I see it exactly the same way - I expect us to put up a decent effort ( if Huamole is fit ) and cause it's at home I give us some chance BUT it's going to be danger signs for the rest of the year if we lose this and then hit a desperate Penrith the week after. But who would know with this lot.

Interesting times ahead....

I remember beating these pretenders 61-0 back in the early/mid nineties (1994???).

Cliffy and Tooves were just toying with them, Cliffy especially.

I still have every newspaper article from the following day about the game.
Yeah I remember too, I was there, my dragons supporting mate with us was in utter disbelief and I laughed, allot.

Dragons have our measure most the time and playing at home won’t help. I can remember plenty of times being at Brookie and watching saints roll over us easily
Not anytime recently thankfully. Saints haven’t beaten us at Brookie in 8 years. Admittedly, we’ve only played them twice at home in those 8 years, but wins by 20 in 2019 and 16 last year shows that this idea we struggle to beat them is a bit of a myth outside of Wollongong. I honestly believe this will be just a classic Manly bounce back at home to hide any of our clear issues shown in the past 2 weeks. If we do lose, there are definitely problems because no way we should be losing to this Dragons team imo.
