In a squad with many deficiencies is the fact We only have 1 first grade quality 2nd rower the biggest oversight?

Burbo is playing terribly, I can’t even des potential

We need to sign an edge, stat.

It’s frustrating when I read the name Jazz Tevega selected at nine!!

Seibold is starting to go down the Dessie path on sticking with seasoned players that are not playing well enough.
That’s always been his mind set for mine, his stuck with Rubes at centre, (maybe that’s starting to come to fruition, but I doubt any other coaches would have persevered) his already dug his heals in with Lehi at 1 and won’t change, Burbo, playing Talau on the wing, when it’s pretty obvious where he belongs, Clayton? Simpkins from a different perspective, when maybe he should have stuck with him last year, before automatically just reverting to Froggy, I’m definitely not enjoying Seibs work.

That's what they said last week about Croker. He needs to be medically retired.
That knock last season was pretty serious for Croker and I would not be surprised if this did eventuate, a hard nosed player that has done a job for the club, his return at the back end of last season is a reminder he wasn’t the player before the injury.

I like how Seibold gives younger players a shot, Hoppa I understand that they are giving him a shot to grow into the one jumper.

The problem I see is the seasoned players not performing well enough and they don’t have the upside they once could offer, Tevega, Brown, Sipley, and Jake T are off the pace and need a wake up call in my opinion, getting a jumper based on past performances only goes so far.

I do agree the Garrick experiment seen its used by date last season, that Howarth miss was terrible.

The only people that believe Garrick is a better centre than winger are Garrick, his manager, Seibold and maybe his missus.

I like young Hoppa, but I think, playing him on the wing would of been preferable, Tom started there, I raise that because Tolu played his best games at one, he was never really given the opportunity to cement his shot, fair enough Tom was always going back there, but down goes Tom and things could be different, Speed out the back is great, Hoppas no slouch, Tolu needs that space and just gives us a more physical presence. That also allows Talau to move in and use his physical presence, Lehi could and can develop from the edge, when he physically fills out and with his skill set, he can be considered anywhere in the backline.

This is definitely a problem and I agree there is no upside and the last part relates to what I inferred re Froggy coming back last year, when Simpkins was actually starting to look good, just like sticking with the players you highlighted, if form dictates, even if it means relegating a senior player, no different to a positional change to strengthen the side, you can’t let players dictate where they play, ie Rubes, even Turbo to a degree, he wanted to remain at FB, tough gig being a coach.

I don’t how or why Seibs persisted, it wasn’t Garricks only shocker, was Garrick promised the position, if that’s true, all my days, the coach is supposed to do what’s best for the team, not the individual, I just don’t think he has the stomach to go against the senior playing group or admit that his choices may not be the best option, he needs to grow some and tell certain players there not performing, if that falls on deaf ears, relagate them, when was the last time Seibs made a hard call, let’s not use Sipps or Duck, anyway he needs to make some tough decisions, can’t keep picking and sticking.

What on earth do we see in Chee Kam. He was rubbish the first time he was with us, was rubbish at the TigPies and the Wabbits. He is a journeyman who can't find a home because he is rubbish, and we take him back..............of course we did......................good grief.
When I heard we had signed him I honestly thought it must be the son of the original Chee Kam, his first stint was that long ago. A mind boggling signing.

The Melbourne loss was bad.

Last weekend v Sharkies was the loyalty pick, to see if the squad would bounce back of their own volition.

Newsflash!! They didn't.

This week was the week to make a few changes, if only to send a clear message to the entire squad.

I'm very disappointed in the Team selection from Seibs this week tbh, and I've been a backer of him, so far.

Agree, except for the last few words, I was on board with the change out from Des, was never sure about Seibs as the best replacement, but gave him the benefit of the doubt, however, I fell away a good while back and can’t believe we extended him…….

I remember last year for the Rnd 26 Bulldogs game, which was the start of our run into the finals, he dumped Burbo to 18th man, installed Lawton into the second row, and made Lodge start in Aloiai's spot. That was all done the hour before kickoff. I seriously hope he has the guts to make similar calls tomorrow night, or an hour before kickoff on Thursday. Changes need to be made.

I just looked at my wall calendar and saw that today is "St. George's Day", so hopefully it won't be their day tomorrow (but knowing our luck lately, it will be Illawarra's day instead).

St Illawarra was the first Indigenous Australian Saint and is the patron saint of coal (thermal and and metallurgical), steel making, surfing and hang gliding.

All things of course we associate with the Illawarra district.

Maybe hit Penn up if you can find the wanker and ask him about his choices lol
