RL is the premier football code in Sydney. In western Sydney it is even more dominant.
In England RL is a minor sport and will probably never seriously challenge soccer or to a lesser extent, rugby. So it is unfair for this journo to compare a grand final of RL in England to one in Sydney.

A positive NRL story is DCE picked as the Australian halfback, a negative story is all the potatoes on here still death riding him.

He's in the squad. I wouldn't say he's the front runner to wear the 7.

But that's fine.

Mal said he'll start, but if not that means he's #2 in Australia. I would actually start Cleary.

But that's fine.

He may start but it won't be on form it'll be incumbency.

Cleary has been the standout 7 all year.
In seriousness, if I was Mal and the Kangaroos were my only concern I'd take Cleary as top dog and a Walker/Deardon/etc in for the future. Fark they love that Walker and Suallii, got me stuffed but anyway.
