Hackers have brought down the PSN and Sony are not being very upfront about the cause or the length of time until the network is up and running.
There are said to be 75million PSN accounts over 59 countries.
That's a lot of pissed people that can't play the online components.

No biggie, no roster updates for any games coming up soon anyway. I've given up on playing FIFA online as it's so hard to get a decent (re: A team other than Chelsea/Barca/Real/Inter/Man Spew) opponent. Hilarious to watch some people when you manage to get them to agree to a game with assistance off or on semi.

Check out the clip from the hackers and why they've done it.

Well looks like they have a "V"andetta against Sony.

I am missing my nightly dose of Killzone 2 but it lucky its the Easter break and the main reason I play (the morons I deal with at work) are out of the equation.

On the plus side, they will be providing us with complimentary access to the premium service for 30 days once its back up and running.

True Codey. I also hear Sony will be giving us a choice of 2 free titles out of 5 that will be available for download.
Wonder what will be on offer?

Battlefield 3 Fault Line looks sensational. Watch the trailer in HD. Looks absolutely awesome.

It does look good. Unfortunately I won't be able to play it though - I get quite motion sick when playing FPSs that have a field of vision less than 90 degrees. After 6 minutes of watching that I felt like I was going to spew!

I hate that developers are starting to mess with the field of view.. haven't been able to play a half-life game in years!

Maybe if BF3 comes out on PC with a customizable graphics settings I'll be able to play it :(

The PSN is back online minus the PS store as of 17th May in Aust.

The offering of 2 free PS3 games, is genuine.

        Choices are (taken from http://blog.eu.playstation.com/)

        LittleBigPlanet
        Infamous
        Wipeout HD/Fury
Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
        Dead Nation

Assuming the same titles will be offered for the AU sector, which 2 to chose, hmmm?

Bugger - I have LBP, Infamous, and Ratchet and Clank. Looks like I'll be grabbing Wipeout and Dead Nation.

        [hr]
After reading gamespot's reviews of those games it looks like I'll be the proud owner of Dead Nation and Wipeout HD!

Second menu from the right and towards the bottom I think on the XMB. You had to have an account before a certain date to be eligible though.
