I thought the Maloney leg was minor. With early plea he gets 75 points. No carry over points, so free to play.
Yea he didn't seem to affect or slow the play down but having said that I think he will get 1 game under the circumstances. In my eyes I think it will be a little hard to ignore.

I actually think it's a lot more open than most people think.

Roosters - amazing roster, huge bench, but could have peaked too early?
Broncos - Bennett can do anything; strong defence and simply game plans win finals
Cowboys - Thurston! He is capable of guiding them home on his own
Storm - Bellamy, Cronk, Smith...need I say anymore?
Dogs - Hasler and that huge pack can beat anyone on their day; traditional finals specialists.

Souths - NO
Sharks - NO
Dragons - NO

Ok some things to note:

Roosters: Mitchell Pierce will make a comeback some time within the finals.
Cowboys: Tamou is back, Morgan will be making a comeback sooner than expected.
Dogs - Is JReynolds/Mbye better combo than Hodko/Mbye?

For mine, Roosters still looking deeper with depth, BUT suspensions could play a part (as their aggressiveness does border on foulplay). I remember in 2004 GF, Roosters Luke Ricketson was suspended for GF, and Doggies won GF 16 - 13.

With Cowboys - once Morgan comes back, and they re-adapt their attacking options, JT's class could probably see them sneak under the radar and go all the way. They could very well be the dark horse.

Dogs could outmuscle their way, but is JReynolds short run before the finals enough to get their organised plays in tact? I guess you could count their first semi against Drags another round warm-up, before their real Finals campaign begins.

For me it's the Roosters but I hope the cowboys as they have never won a grand final and thurston deserves a grand final after carrying the cowboys for so long.
My thoughts exactly
Yep agreed. Cows have never won it, and Sharkies too.
So long as its not any club currently or formerly owned by Rupert Murder, i'll be fine with it. Ohh, and not the Rorters either, they've recently been dished out their illegally gotten gains (2013).

Would happily see St George win it for wifey but that won't happen.
Don't mind the sharks, but they had enough ball to win 3 games yesterday and couldn't even win 1. They are gone.
Souths wont get passed week 2.
I think Melbourne are a massive chance. Especially if they can somehow sneak passed the Roosters this week. TBH they are missing nothing with Slater out. Munster is one of the form fullbacks at the moment. He is a gun. Hope he is a NSWelshman.
I have thought the Broncos have been overrated all season but they keep turning up. Could not stand the thought of smug Hodges lifting the trophy though.
Of all the teams, I hope the Bulldogs don't win it for the reasons stated above.
Don't like the Roosters after cheating us in 2013.
So through a process of elimination Go Cows. (but don't really care a great deal)

2v picks the Cows, just to piss off the Rorters I'm sure:giggle:

Sea Eagles coach Geoff Toovey says Roosters lack an X factor — Highs, Lows and Big Blows

“(But) apart from probably Sheck there’s not too many X factors there.

“North Queensland, if they can match them in that consistency, they’ve got a little bit more X factor.

“But it is finals football and as we know from the past anything can happen.”

The Roosters need to win just three more games to prove Toovey wrong and take home the silverware.

Roosters to beat broncos, broncos will lose this one to win in 16, however if Bellamy gets in the grand final he will know how to upset the roosters

Judiciary - Burgess out for 2 finals games for littering :banghead:

NRL is losing the plot

This incident might well have been viewed as just a trivial moment of fun... if there hadn't been ugly crowd scenes only a few short months ago.

But there was, unfortunately for Burgess.

His action is similar to those of Graham and Klemmer in potential for stirring up crowd violence. Which in worst case scenario could become a disaster for the game.

The NRL can't take that chance and I'm not surprised they have drawn a line that professional players have to accept.
