Phil Gould's Verdict
From SMH:
GUS'S VERDICT
SOLID win by Manly. Melbourne never looked comfortable and came up with a series of uncharacteristic errors. Manly set up the win with a solid first 40 minutes and posted a big half-time lead. Despite a short-lived comeback by the Storm early in the second half, the Sea Eagles were too strong and classy (especially winger Chris Hicks, celebrating one of his two tries, above) and finished it off in style. Manly halfback Matt Orford was the difference. His attacking kicks were a headache for the Storm. The way Manly won suggests they have the ability and the spirit to make a mark in this competition.
