And you had to remember we just played Penrith at full strength first time in 6 weeks they were. You add a recognised nine and a fully fit walker into our squad we take Penrith today.

We are not that far off Penrith
or you add walker and they score 5 tries down his edge..... needs to up his D.

I dunno why... the rest of us can't understand a word he's saying!

Anyway, well done Manly. work to do but that was a fine effort.

Or as cronk would say....

Why would you rush any of that group back?
I’d have Suli/Walker over Parker/Harper any day of the week. I’d gladly also have Jorge on the wing over Garrick. Sironen, I’m sure could offer more from the bench than Keppie does too. As for Fainu, I truly believe that kid is the difference between winning a Premiership & not. I even go so far as to say, he has the exact same effect Turbo has on this side...& who said anything about rushing?
The players we have out are considered staters. Whether they keep their spots or not I agree, remains to be seen.

Rarely do I watch a replay of a Manly loss, but ... was curious this time! Second viewing left me with high hopes for the future.

OK, Penrith were clearly the better side. Pretty much at the top of their game. Could scarcely be in better form than 24 of 25, or whatever their ridiculous record is. Full strength, totally settled side, young but experienced, brimming with confidence, not to mention talent

Yet Manly was in that game till the final few minutes. And our side has a lot of improvement ahead, with some inexperienced individuals but also as a team.

Whereas poor Pennies only have complacency, key injuries and a form slump to look forward to!

(And personally I'm very pleased we have Hasler at the helm to take our side forward, even though his failings are well documented here on a weekly basis) :)

Yes we lost yesterday in Bathurst which was disappointing. But TBH its a loss I am not all that unhappy with. Just over a month ago Penrith barely got out of 2nd gear in taking us to the 48-6 cleaners at Brookie. Yesterday we pushed that (mostly) same team to where if not for some silly errors and a couple of relatively easy missed kicks at goal, we might well have won that game.

There are definitely positive signs for Manly right now. We are currently 3-5 which doesn't look great. But I honestly think that by the end of Magic Round (10) we could easily be 5-5 and that is far above where some had us just a few weeks ago.

Did you know the scariest part of yesterday's game for me was when Tom scored? When he took that intercept I honestly thought he wouldn't make it. It was waiting for him to either be run down, or for his hammy to go again. But the fact that he basically ran away from the Penrith chasers and that his hammies were not only fine but he finished out the game without an issue shows that we have our fullback ... back. And its a glorious thing.

Oh, and I also fully expect him to turn out for NSW (Fittler will pick him, that's a given). I can't see the club asking him not to play and Des, himself a former Origin player, certainly wouldn't stand in his way

****ing Jake. Its almost like he intentionally gives away set restarts, its so obvioubut he just keeps lying there! He really hurst us defensively
Mate it’s become annoying with Jake. He cost us in the finals 2019 & he’ll cost us again..... it’s not just his penchant to hold onto players but dropped balls & cutting back on the inside (ala Siro) whenever he gets the ball & he is slow. I wouldn’t swap him for anyone but bloody hell he needs a kick up the ar$e!

Unlike Crooper Conk, Peter Sterling gave Manly praise for their effort against the Panthers.
Good to see some ex-player commentators drop old prejudices & see things objectively.
Gronk cums in his pants every time he talks about the Storm & Roosters.....he’ll praise the worst players in both teams & $hit on other teams. He pretends to sound clever yet can’t string a proper sentence together with that nasally little voice of his. I tend to ignore every comment he makes....,

Must say though, I think that would be a first for Snorky praising our club, he usually enjoys having a smug dig at us, I have no love for the little guy either, I have lingering memories that piss me off.

Don't know about Taufua and Suli but Siro over Keppie seems right at this stage. Also completely agree re Fainu. In 2019, Turbo was out, and it was fainu who got us to within 90mins of the GF. In around 15 weeks we'll all finally know whether we get our star 9 back. Without him (and turbo), we are no chance of winning a comp

Couldn’t agree more, it seems like the game plan is to give a few resets and be down 12 - 0 after 10 minutes. Can’t Des see that ? It is so obvious and so frustrating to be happening week after week after week. How are you supposed to win a game of football like that. And when we get near their line, Jake please get out of the road.

Me too, Jorge brings fear factor, what opposition centre or winger doesn't think about a possible near death experience. DCE can kick, Garrick has problems with pressure kicks.
I sat through the BWSE game before the main game on Saturday. Trust me, he is where he belongs and is 2-3 injuries to wingers away from 1st grade.

It’s the panthers would you expect anything different right now, they are the nrl s love child right now.

if that was Marty on burton 2 weeks minimum
Is it just me or is it the Rabbitohs that are the perpetual NRL darlings? Every game I watch of theirs they seem to get EVERY 50/50 decision. But it never stops Bennett from playing the hapless victim. Imagine if he was coaching Manly, he would absolutely **** himself...
