My ol Pop use to drink DA I remember Resches was the beer you can still get it a Pilsner commonly called a silver bullet

DA, or as my grandfather called it Dirty Annie. I was about 7. Didn’t really get it. But I knew it must’ve been bad as my granny would go off at him for using such vulgarity around his grandson.

Yep, that's what my parents used to drink. Back in those days, Pubs were tied to certain beer companies too so you couldn't just go to any pub and get any brand of beer. You had Toohey's Pubs and Resch's/Tooth's Pubs.

Yeah, in a pseudo lockdown here in Honkers with a population of fear and frustration whipped up by everybody's favourite CCP (I love communism in case you're listening). Great to work from home online while catching the footy... and a much more reasonable time with a 5:05pm start.

Ps .. I can remember halfpennies ... when I bought my first beer a schooner cost 15c in the canopus (the can) bar at the Manly Pacific .

Every Christmas, my Grandfather would make a Christmas Pudding with Threepence Coins in it so you had to watch out when you ate it that you didn't swallow any and lose some pocket money.
