Rightly or wrongly, Des is gone, but as fans we need to make our feelings clear to Penn that he is the real issue at the club. Under his ownership we have continued to go backwards.

In English football, fans have their say about owners using hashtags. I think we should do the same by hijacking every news article from the media outlets on twitter, facebook and everywhere. the more of us that do it, the more the media will realise that we fans are sick of the negative treatment and attitude our owner and chairman has towards the club.

We need to start stirring the pot and trying to get rid of this petulant owner. I am simply commenting on all the Manly news articles #pennout, including those from the official facebook page.

Hoping others will do the same. No other words required, just simply comment #pennout and hopefully we can let the news outlets know that we fans are not happy with the current ownership of the club.

This my View

The Ultimate club disgrace is a club running dead last with a wooden spoon

NIck Politis took the Roosters to a wooden spoon
Mr Penn Never disgraced our club with a wooden spoon and we are proudly the only club of our era without a disgraced spoon

During the covid pandemic economic tough times Mr Penn was the financial security that our club
required

Mr Penn is not Perfect and he has his faults and just like he has made changes for a new Manly resurgence . He also needs to be humble enough to make changes to his leadership ways
Because unless he changes his old unfeasible ways all the changes he makes will be fruitless

Surely he is smart enough to realize that in every organisation all effective changes start at the top

He certainly took us close in 2018. (thankfully parra had one less win than us that season, otherwise the spoon would have been ours thanks to Mr Penn and his preferred coach Mr Barrett!)

He also took us to finals

and now we wait for him to take us to a winning grand final

At Manly everything is possible

Been using that hashtag since jerseygate.
Would be good to see it pick up some momentum @captaincarpo
Would anyone be game enough to make a sign and take it to brookie? Or would the dictator forcefully remove said person from the ground and send them to the gulag?

I always love your positive energy Bozo, it's a good thing. However Mr Penn's leadership through our crises has been outstandingly bad. Manly is a proud club (when Pride actually meant something) and a successful club. I think fresh ownership and management that is not from a journeyman player fresh from an organisation propped up with gambling revenue is needed. Manly 2.0 with a board with Manly legends overseeing a CEO who has organisational ability and Manly bred passion. A new Arko. Someone like Geoff Toovey.

OPINION

Manly would be happy for the entire string of rainbow jersey emails to be made public as their stoush with coach Des Hasler reaches the point of no return.

Hasler has coached his 303rd and last game for the Sea Eagles – that much is assured.

'P***ED OFF': Icon's staggering claim in Cameron Munster-Wayne Bennett furore

TELLING: Matty Johns makes staggering claim in Ben Hunt drama at Dragons

It's just a matter of when – not if – he goes as the club positions former Souths and Brisbane boss Anthony Seibold to take over in 2023.

Manly's feud with Hasler is no longer about the coaching job – it's all now down to cents and dollars.

Kieran Foran throws support behind Des Hasler

And yeah, it's been no different this week.

The veteran coach will walk if the final year of his $850,000 deal is paid out along with compensation for the 2024 season.

Hasler was guaranteed a contract extension if Manly had made the top six but the 61-year-old is arguing the club's decision to wear a pride jersey for the round 20 clash against the Roosters caused so much controversy it derailed the season and cost him any hope of reaching his KPIs.

The Sea Eagles lost their last five games to finish 11th.

Hasler claims to have been blindsided by the rainbow jersey decision, with leaked emails showing an exchange between football manager John Bonasera and commercial chief Luke Tucker in which the former signs off on the arrangement.

The insinuation is the coach knew nothing about the decision.

Those who know Hasler, a control freak of the highest order, find it incredulous he only found out about the rainbow jersey at the last minute.

Emails could hold key to Des Hasler's Manly future

It's believed there are further emails – yet to come to light – that reveal Hasler's football department were aware of the jersey plans.

The club will argue Hasler, as head of the football club department, had access to those emails whether he read them or not.

There were also promotional shots taken in the week prior to the rainbow game, featuring stars Daly Cherry-Evans, Reuben Garrick and Kieran Foran wearing the jerseys, further illustrating plans were well advanced.

The Sea Eagles are convinced they have a water-tight case and will go to court if necessary, but would prefer to part company with Hasler without the need for legal action.

Wests Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis, head of litigation firm Brydens Lawyers, warns Hasler would come under heavy scrutiny in court over what he knew about the rainbow jersey.

"It would be a factual dispute as to whether he (Hasler) was told by those in the football department or not," Hagipantelis told Radio SEN.

"If he was aware of it and was complicit or condoned the arrangements, then it would be something they (the club) would be able to rely upon to suggest he was participating voluntarily in the exercise and shouldn't be raising complaint now."

As to whether Hasler could successfully argue the jersey fiasco cost Manly a top six berth, Hagipantelis replied: "Des would have to establish to the satisfaction of the court that it was the pride jersey drama that was responsible for the failing of the Manly club.

"It's a factual issue and Des would bear the onus of proof. Not easy."

None of this is.

As long as it's not the #nextweek, that never happens. Just ask @Mark from Brisbane he has the patent.

all demonstrations of people power that are respectful should be encouraged if its stirs peoples emotions. the intangible asset the penns purchased, like you, me , have enormous power over brands and only exercising those powers do we achieve balance from over zealous narcissist with deep pockets

but some will tell you it doesnt work
