A bad penalty count is still 1000 times better than watching an over officiated game of Union

Anyone who has watched Richie McCaw play with impunity would argue otherwise

It needs to happen now.
Stevo said:Normally i would agree. But this year i reckon he's been as bad as Ennis. Is it because there is bias or is it because we are on the back foot? Which came first the chicken or the egg?
Stevo said:Is it a bigger disadvantage being penalized or not receiving penalties?
Either way, we can't complain until we're perfect.

Seriously, what difference should it make if a team is liked or disliked? A professional referee should never approach a gig with a preconceived idea to favour one team over another.
Stevo said:How do you explain us winning the penalty count in rd 1 only to lose or draw every one since? Maybe we just behaved that game? Maybe the bronco's misbehaved that game? Did the referees get together and decide We had it too easy that game and it shouldn't be that way? I think it's more likely that our discipline went south after that game. Brent Kite being offside in the Melbourne game. Was he off side? Yes. Did he need to be? Would we have defended the last set of the game to win? Who knows? But he was off side and it was a penalty = penalty goal to Melbourne = Rest is history.
Sure there is probably a bit of bias around but is it not possible that we have put ourselves in a position where we are easy to penalize because of our poor discipline?
I believe we have a bad reputation when it comes to referees. Jamie Lyon is probably one of the more argumentative captains in the NRL which probably doesn't help. This nobody likes us we don't care siege mentality doesn't help. Kieran Foran, Steve Matai and Anthony Watmough constantly barking at the referees doesn't help either We need to be squeaky clean to shake a rep like that. If not, enjoy the nail biting, low scoring games. We'll keep bashing ourselves in defense all year and have no puff in the finals again.

Being penalized obviously. If we aren't giving away penalties and aren't receiving them, then it becomes a contest of skill and toughness, not a contest as to who gets the most leg ups and easy rides down field. If the penalty count was 0-0 or 2-2 or something fairly even and balanced then we would win more often than not.
