Paul Bryan

The first few years stepping up to reserve grade can often be tough, especially for a young front rower as the physical difference between boys to men is immense. Of course there are the elite such as Haas that can handle it from a young age but a player like Bullemor who has probably been our best prop this year took a while to get going when he 1st arrived. His rise the past couple years has been great to see.

Hopefully Bryan has a lot more left in him as we are going to need him to stand up next year with a few leaving. Doesn’t have great stats in NSW cup but that Newcastle team is also horrible so it’s tough to say what scenarios he is coming into from the bench. His last 5 games he was averaging 83 run metres & 30 tackles.

Likewise.

He is only 22 years of age and I hope he continues to improve and can bolster our middle forward rotation.

Good luck P.B we all hope to see a "run of PB's" (my apologies in advance for that lame effort 🤦‍♂️) during your tenure here at our Club.
As I’ve said , at least he’s not an aging journeyman looking for a final paycheque.

Wish him all the very best.

I just watched a few minutes of Bryan (and Paul) in his debut game with Knights when they thrashed Penrith a few weeks ago. At first look he could be exactly what Manly needs (according to my untrained eagle eye anyway)
if anyone's interested he comes on at about the 36.55 mark in this video (wearing No. 19)

Paul Bryan. I imagining a 60 year old teacher wearing knee high socks with shorts and suspenders.

I'm reading these pages whilst waiting for a series of documents to arrive via email and I literally burst out laughing reading this message.

I had a primary school teacher with the first name Paul who you've described to a tee.

In his knee high socks he always kept a 4-colour BIC pen and in the top pocket of his Crystal Cylinders dress-shirt a little notepad (ala Tony Soprano) where he'd write our names down if we were misbehaving in the playground and then issue a note to our parents which had to be returned the next day, signed, confirming our attendance at the obligatory lunchtime detention as outlined within his hand written note.

The good ol'days.

Why such a big rush to make arthur move on then? There could have potential avenues. If not i don't see why its necessary to give arthur away for ****s and giggles. We are essentially just helping Newcastle out
I would say we are helping Jake out… he has done his time, payed his dues at Manly and is a shot at a starting spot at the knights (and is unlikely to get another start here)…

Plus I reckon this is a fair indication that Arthur Sr is earmarked for AOB’s job next year…

Just a reminder to everyone .... this deal has been to swap a reserve grade player ... for a reserve grade player in return ...

It is not the major event that merits the mount of uninformed cocky cack that has been written ...

Bryan may or may not kick on ... but seriously ... we swapped a bloke who has played 7 NRL games in 3 years for him ...

Ahh crystal cylinders. That takes me back. “In your crystal cylinders, you can turn your back, you can turn your back, on the world.
