I can see Mayer going for it - It seems things are in a stalemate here, Mayer has only one side backing him, why would you want to stay at a place like that.  Nevermind the team being better or the fans or how well you did, if your employer wants you out you probably wouldn't want to stick around.

Besides, if Zappia is gone from this new story then that would be an open position, one Mayer would easily walk into... New beginning at Parra...very tempting.

I hope Mayer stays at Manly and the board wakes up to themselves before it's to late if it's not already.

I couldn't stand it if he went to the slimes.

This is a truly terrifying moment for rugby league.

Already we've seen this year what one NRL powerhouse (the Dragons) can do with a decent coach (even though their roster is weak, their junior depth is amazing....give Bennett his 3 years and they'll be the scariest team in the comp).

What is going to happen when potentially the most powerful NRL club (Parra, huge juniors, huge leagues club, huge supporter base) is finally run properly?!

It won't be run properly for the forseeable future.  Not with the nongs who got onto the board.

Looks like they'll give Andrew Hill the job.

PARRAMATTA board member Ron Hilditch believes there is no need to look beyond caretaker football chief executive Andrew Hill as the replacement for Denis Fitzgerald.
