Panthers lead the chase for off-contract Manly winger Akuila Uate

Uate was "secretly getting a guided tour" - lol

Of course "secretly" just means he didn't have the manners to ring every media hack before he went to have a look. (If he did).

I remember before dce re-signed with us there were cameras waiting outside some other clubs facilities....and didn't the media rip into him about that, generally saying it was bad form by announcing his visit (ie: not keeping it a secret).

In summary: Sports journos brain dead cowards.

I'm glad Lane has been offered a new deal. Sure he's not the best forward going around, but his move to being a bench prop this year has seen a big improvement from him. And the fact that he can also cover the back row is a bonus.

Seriously, the guy could be a beast. 6'7", 115kg, good speed for his size, a good skill set including the ability to offload, and he doesn't miss a lot of tackles. I'm glad we're giving him another go.

Didn't think I would ever agree with that .... but I do .... Baz has done an outstanding job coach young Lane into usefulness ....

Don’t underestimate the role of those morally upstanding citizens called player agents in all this. How do you think the journos find out about these secret meetings and just happen to turn up at the right time.

Research and 'news hound' hunches!
.......:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Nah, you're spot on. I forgot to throw a reference to those... "honourable men" in my post.

I'm sure more players will be offered contract's. We have 11 players off contract this year
Allegedly Siro and Aku already have extensions on the table ready to be signed, can't be finalised until the salary cap appeal is settled.

As a reminder to all speculating on contracts, we have a thread that lists all current player contract status here - well at least those that are publicly acknowledged
