Since it popped up as an add I thought I would chuck a post up.

3 mates and myself have signed up for the 100km walk from Brooklyn to Georges Heights. Air aim is to break to 24 hour mark. It is a tough ask and many teams do no finish.

The aim of the game is to raise funds for Oxfam. We are hoping to crack $1500.

Anyone who would like to donate can do it here:

Good stuff, fluff!

Tis a pity that no one ever checks any forum outside of the footy one.

You should bribe @Jethro to allow you to put it in the main forum for a day or two!

No we will not be, although the organisation we are linked through now is in Dee Why as well so things there are slowly coming around that way.

According to wikipedia "Champion racewalkers can average more than 14 kilometres per hour (8.7 mph) over a distance of 20 kilometres (12 mi). "

So 24 hours would be an amazing feat.

The record is about 13 hours for the 100km I believe by bushrunners. The old course was closer to 12 hours by a group of Gurkahs.

You lose a few hours checking in and out and refilling water.
