Jorge has been much maligned and many experts here lambasted the signing of Aku.
Neither are perfect but they both bring a lot to the team, and especially against the Cows they were very good. They both really stood up in the absence of our top big men.

Agreed.

I was a massive critic of the Uate signing but he takes the ball up with gusto and still has his pace. Jorge seems to have stepped up and tried to fill the void left by Matai with even more powerful runs this year.

However I still have massive concerns about both of them under the high ball...

Both our wingers provided solid go forward last night. You accept with these guys that you will get a few errors but if they can consistently get over 130 metres a game the coach will be happy with that.

Both have been brilliant under the high ball thus far, rd 1 Uate was on fire catching em. Very few would have caught that. Taufua and him have been playing like props, also creating plenty of opportunities. Great workload from em, I had faith in the Uate signing and he's really done a great job. Quality signing although hell was it a risk

Walker and Kelly were also really good against the cows, I mean who wasn't, even Myles played out of his skin

Their 'catching the high ball' skills are rightly maligned, however Tommy T is also good for a dropped ball....

Generally if manly can clean up the errors, we will be more dominant. We can't keep gifting possession through silly errors.

Can they PLEEEASE get catching practice.
This is one area I can't understand why Taufua has not improved at.Take a look at Shaun Kenny-Dowall,many yrs ago he was ordinary with his hands. Then,of all coaches,Brad Fittler came up with the idea of him carrying around a ball the whole time he was at training. His handling improved markedly. If Fittler can improve someone's game like that,it couldn't be that hard to improve Taufua

I have never understood the criticism for Uate, he has been going great, take tough runs through forwards and actually making good metres.
George is another matter, rocks or diamonds for this bloke

To be fair, other than Jorge who we know is weak under a high ball, how many NRL wingers would have caught that bomb from Morgan last night? Not many, if any, I would wager.
