If you were going to go with that, what's wrong with just using the original?

Thought the original looks a bit meek, this one is a bit more contemporary and like our current logo but in a silhouhette style.

Seems fairly Eagleish to me.

I guess it's the lack of contemporaryness that I like about the old one. It's timeless because it was designed in an era before football clubs tried to be contemporary. They just were what they always were and probably thought they always would be. I like that vibe rather than the one now where we know that things will most likely be almost unrecognisable in 20 or 30 years.
