I live in the Inner West and so therefore see many cars with the Souths sticker on the car. I reckon the old rabbit symbol that they reverted to looks excellent. It made me think that the Sea Eagle should go back to our original, a silhouette with MW underneath. They would stand out amongst the modern mascots about today. If there are enough who like it perhaps we could lobby the club for a change.

I totally agree.

The new emblems look tacky & will date quickly. The old style 60's/70's ones look more impressive in the sense of trying to promote the game in new markets. They give an established, credible vibe rather than the new ones that make us look like some tin-pot operation that just sprung up.

The bunnies image is super popular because it is simple, cartoon-like and friendly. Appeals to women, kids, and at some level to all of us. We could do the same. Rather than fierce and angry we could go for sleek, attractive, friendly. The sort of animal you'd feel an impulse to pat.

Here's an image of a sea-eagle, sort of along those lines:

At the very top.

But not the one for the NSW Cup sponsored by Manly Leagues Club. The eagle looks wrong.

Revert back to this one

That's the one. Nice and flat/2D but still has something to it, maybe make the eagle a bit bigger, change the writing a little and that's it.
Parra went back to their 80's one in the same vein. I remember the Panthers logo was awesome too. Could keep going with most other clubs.

The Bears are the best instance of royally screwing things up. Sure it's supposed to be a new team and location but you see the new logo and think 'if i go into the woods today i'll come across a cartoon bear with a red runny nose and curvy arms/paws'

I'm not a huge fan of the 80's one.

I like the original from the 60's & 70's. Simple, white 2D, just like the Souths one.

I voted no because I assumed the logo from the 50s-70s was the alternative. I like the one Eagles2win posted more than the current one though.

I actually think our current logo is pretty good.

Not too dissimilar to our old logos, and a much better effort at modernisation than other clubs i.e dogs before this year, eels before this year, Easts...

It's so easy to market that (and the bunnies one) because of the simplicity of the design. It can go on anything without looking cluttered or tacky.

I like the one we've got now (it matches my tough sticker)

I think the current one is ok, but it looks like they tried hard to please everyone with the eagle looking a bit cutesie to appeal to the women fans. Give me a tough eagle any day.

Philadelphia's first logo, which is very similar to our 70s logo posted above. Something like that would be great to use a base IMO. Very retro & cool but if done up could look modern at the same time.

All in all I don't really have any problems with our current crest, it's recognizable & doesn't look all that awful. There are really only so many things you can do with a Sea Eagle.
