Other Games - Round 21, 2018

It's the inconsistencies that drive fans nuts.

We have had this black and white rule applied to front decoy runners not running through the lines... like it or not, they've made it black and white and a straight forward call. Manly have copped it a few times this season that I can recall. And yet, there is an identical situation with the Storm, but this time it's suddenly OK?

Then watching the Tigpies Newie game before, did anyone notice the quick tap taken by Newie about 11m out in almost the identical position as Hoppa tried to take his last night? I mean, it was identical. There was no ref marking the spot tonight and it was allowed to play on, while last night the ref calls Hoppa back because he hadn't marked the spot.

Absolute shambles.

That happened last night too. After the Dogs were stopped from taking a quick tap, in the second half as the Donkeys were scoring a couple of late tries.....they were allowed to take a quick tap even though the ref had only just blown his whistle.

Fatty, Serlo and Hadlee all said the same thing. Its a lucky dip.

Lucky depending on who the WWE.....er....NRL have scripted to win.

Great tackle by Big Sammy on Curtis 'Ringo' Scott.
Suck sh*t c*nt...

And there's another grey area inconsistency. High shot and play stopped while player goes off for HIA... replays show the high shot clearly, but somehow, the Storm escape any sanction...

So kaufusi's tackle was a non reportable offence.
Put him in a Sea Eagles jumper and it would've been a send off !!

Crazy how the Storm can get "accidently" tangled up with the tackled player so many times as they try to get to their feet. Even crazier how the refs fall for it time and time again, allowing them that extra second or two of slowing down the ruck. There was one there tonight where Scam literally danced the tango with a Rabbitoh trying to play the ball and the muppets let him get away with it. Anyone else and it would have been a penalty.

Not a Bunnies fan but love seeing the Scum get spanked. Cook leaving Studs Up Grub grasping at thin air was a highlight.

Like most here I have no love or even like for the Scum or Vermin. But, I will say that last night's game was one of the best quality football games I have seen all year.

And I'm crying a river over Scam possibly being out with injury :rofl::rofl:

Agree, but sadly in the footy tipping I picked the Drizzle!!

Souffs have always been the club I've despised most. It dates back to the 1960s when they kept beating Manly in big matches.
However, this season, I have grudging admiration for them, and wouldn't mind if they won the comp.
The reason is that there are similarities with Souffs and Manly. Both are battling suburban Sydney clubs with a similar ownership structure.
For Souffs to compete with one-city mega clubs like Melbourne and Brisbane shows that there is hope for us in the future.
What is takes is an owner with real passion, some astute recruitment and a coach who allows his players greater reign.
From memory Souffs only made one big player purchase this season - Gagai. This team is basically the one that was poor in 2017.
Let's hope we can learn from Souffs' revival and embrace change.

So in the Wests v Knights game last night there was an incident in the first half where a Wests player stood waiting to catch a bomb. In trying to catch it, the player stuffed it up & the ball flew out sideways, where another Wests player running back to get onside caught it.

Referee called a scrum with Knights feed.

All of which means the referee must have ruled the ball was accidentally knocked forward.

Either the referees had a meeting after Manly-Storm game & decide that call (deliberate offside) was wrong, or last night Wests got the fair treatment that Manly were denied.

Thanks NRL again.

Parra on top, spoon looms for Manly. If that happens, my pub defence that we have never gotten one is over. Please don’t let it happen

Eels 22-8 before half time. Seriously Eels, Dogs & Cows all finding form. What has Barrett coaching done to Manly?
