Euan Aitken - the bloke being talked up as a defensive giant and gun, has made 148 tackles and missed 18.

Hardly the massive defensive liability that people perpetuate.

He appears to be a defensive liability because of his seemingly slack attitude and his general wankery.

If he was playing centre for us he'd be an outside chance. Now he has moved to 6 I think he'll be 100-1. Anyway right centre seems to have a few options, it's the left that is low on talent for NSW, that's why Mitchell is getting mentioned.

Anyway the one saving grace is that we have finally seen the back of that myth Hayne, thank God.

But of course NSW have a nasty habit of making their most useless player the captain so one of the in form second rowers will lose their spot so that Cordner can be a complete passenger and lose us another series. And there will be at least one certifiably insane backline selection too. At least Pearce is injured.

As much as I think Tom is out of form and far from certain you have to remember the selectors are after big wingers, backs. Joey and Freddy have both stated they want some big wingers. QLD will have oates so you need to counter that with another big boy, e.g. Tom or Cotric. Cotric isnt in that good of form either so Tom still has plenty of time to impress.

I like most of the YARTs posted but what is interesting to me is how many origin rookies people are prepared to pick. Will be interesting to see whether Freddie goes down this path but I reckon he should. As much as blues fans demand a series win, most blues fans want a clean out and not to see the same guys before that have been there and failed.
A few experienced guys are required and that is why Woods and Klemmer will be the first forwards picked. I also think one of Ferguson and Dugan (if fit) will be picked for this reason.
I really want to see the young guys picked. Same as at Manly, for what it is worth. It’s exciting to get behind a team where you can see upside and the direction in which it is heading.

It's very important to keep some of the old guard so that they retain that losing culture.

Klemmer is made for origin and very rarely goes missing on the big stage even when NSW is getting flogged.

Maloney has to be in the team with Tedesco so that half the spine have experience at SOO.

Cordner is captain so plays.

After that arguments can be made for a lot of different players to be there but as stated we will not play half a team of rookies which means Jake will get the gig I think.
