Journey Man
My own take on tonight's game.
Queensland:
Billy Slater - Had an easy time with 99% of Pearce's kicks going straight down his throat and NSW having next to no attack for him to have to defend. 8/10
Valentine Holmes - 3 tries, can't fault that. 8/10
Will Chambers - 149 running metres and strong defence. 7.5/10
Michael Morgan - Played like he was a regular centre. 7/10
Dane Gagai - NSW had no answer to his running game. 8/10
Cameron Munster - Brilliant debut, was in just about everything. 8/10
Cooper Cronk - Once again showed Pearce how an Origin halfback should play. 8/10
Dylan Napa - Strong all night when on. 7/10
Cameron Smith - Usual grub self but was the general that led Qld to yet another win. 9/10
Jarrod Wallace - Outplayed Fifita and strolled past him for a try. 7/10
Gavin Cooper - Led the way with a game high 43 tackles. 7.5/10
Matt Gillett - Lather, rinse, repeat on Cooper but with 41 tackles. 7.5/10
Josh McGuire - Solid without being spectacular. 7/10
Ben Hunt - Little time but did nothing with it. 3/10
Josh Papalli - Was good in his 30 minutes. 6/10
Coen Hess - Quiet game really when on. 5/10
Tim Glasby - Could have scored if not for Maloney. 6/10
New South Wales:
James Tedesco - Ran for 180 metres but it meant little. 6/10
Brett Morris - Not a lot of opportunity. Good tackle stopped Cronk scoring. 6/10
Josh Dugan - Scored the only try but another error prone performance. 6/10
Jarryd Hayne - Caught out in defence too often and did nothing in attack. 3/10
Blake Ferguson - Got schooled by Holmes. Still no Origin try in 7 games. 3/10
James Maloney - Tried hard but had little impact. 9 missed tackles. 4/10
Mitchell Pearce - Went missing for the umpteenth time in Origin. Surely his last. 3/10
Aaron Woods - 73 metres from your front rower is not good. 3/10
Nathan Peats - Good service and a tackling machine, but offers little else. 5/10
Andrew Fifita - Qld have him worked out and he was poor again. 3/10
Boyd Cordner - Probably shouldn't have played and it showed. 5/10
Josh Jackson - Almost the complete opposite of his game 2. 5/10
Tyson Frizell - Tackled and ran hard. 6/10
David Klemmer - The Blues best forward, just shading Jake. 7.5/10
Wade Graham - Tried hard but gave a couple of silly penalties. 5/10
Jake Trbojevic - It was Klemmer, Jake and daylight for NSW's best. 7.5/10
Jack Bird - Was tying to get into the game but Qld's defence was too good. 5/10
