Origin game one thread. (Realistically)

As always @HoldenV8 , another very insightful wrap up of the game.
Ive gotta give a wrap to two players who I thought were lucky to be there. Klemmer and Graham. Klemmer made some damn tough metres in the middle, and Wade got some great balls away, and tackled like a demon.
My only complaint is the Breezer Bros.
Dugan has to pass that bloody ball!
I read somewhere that Dugan & Ferguson were roomies.
I wonder if they camped on the roof?

The forward pack was picked exactly right. I wouldn't change a single forward based on last night's game. The backs got the job done but they're the weak link for sure. Dugan and Hayne are terrible centres, at least in defence. I don't know why they don't just pick specialist centres. It's not like there aren't any in form.

I still think Vaughn should be there in the place of one of the backrowers. Given Jake is playing lock that's 3 props and 5 backrowers/locks, I like 4 and 4 for better balance.

Frizell was ineffective in the middle compared to last year on the edge and Jackson defended well but that was about it. Would swap one of those 2.

Outside of that it was players in form and in position and they played well.

* Will Chambers was facing a one-game suspension for the hit that knocked out Pearce, but the Queensland centre is now free to play after exploiting an “ambiguity identified in the judiciary code’s new fines provisions”. The code has now been amended by the NRL. Chambers has instead copped a $1,550 fine.

Gee, a loophole that helps the storm/broncos, it's a Christmas miracle!

So 20min into Brisbane Ch nein news and not a single mention of SOO. They are such piss poor losers up here it's just sickening to listen when they ever win something. I hope we wipe the floor with these moron pricks for years to come.

I don't usually watch the Nein news but did so last night wondering how they would report it, not even a mention in the introduction ( where they highlight the major news of the day), and yes about 20-25 mins in before it was covered( allbeit briefly).

Watched the ABC news after that and it was about the 3rd story in!!

Imagine if we crucify them in Sydney in game two, if that's the case it mightn't even make the sports report the next night on Nein.

I So hope it happens. These twats will all neck themselves the way they carry on. It's actually pathetic to witness such empty vessels.

Don't know if you saw the photo that Fox Sports put up of Hayne standing on the fence ( the one where you can see all the Batchys Blues fans), at the very top left there's a female with a wig, white sleeves looking down at a little boy with a Blues Cap, that's my daughter Alice and grandson Sammy!

Son in law Mick, and the other grandson Tom didn't make the photo but are immediately to the left.

They said it was amazing to be there.

Great memories for the family, they'll need them as Micks just about exhausted all avenues now, he's got it back in his Liver and now the Lungs.

Great stuff.....but also tragic as well. I wish them all the very best.

With Mitchell pearce on the field:

NSW score 12 points
QLD score 4 points
in 50 minutes

With Pearce off the field:
NSW score 16 points
QLD score 0 points
in 30 mins.

Anything to be made of that?

I'm not nec anti-pearce, just wondering if more experienced eyes see this as still a prob for nsw or more that qld got ran over by a younger fitter nsw...?

@Mark from Brisbane I was looking for something in old s.o.o. threads and came across this comment from you about the nsw captain....

Funny how Cordner kills it at club level and is ****ing hopeless at SOO.

lol. Hopefully, as captain, he's gotten a little better in your eyes. :giggle:
