Origin game one thread. (Realistically)

Sad but true. Another nothing performace by the useless twat.
Did i just hear them say Pearce has the second most appearances for NSW in the number 7? Sad stat!
It's criminal because this NSW team has a real chance of wrestling control from Qld and winning this series (and more). However, just by association, Pearce will continue to walk into the team without honest or true scrutiny of his performance.

This is the best NSW side to take the field since 2005, in my opinion.
I think it's made to look better by the inevitable ageing and decline of the Qld side too. That said, we look a cut above in that first half on the back of some really dominant forward work from Fifita and Woods in particular.

I know he's an ex manly captain, but geez I can't cop fatty's commentary. Doesn't even try to be balanced. May as well ask the qld coach to commentate. Wonder if qld regret picking Boyd over slater yet? Boyd done nothing. They are crying out for a game breaker.
In all honesty, I think it falls on the forwards' performance so far. NSW has dominated in the forwards and Qld are struggling on the back of it.

And yeah, Fatty should gag on a fatty so we don't have to tolerate the biased dribble

So far the weakness in NSW has been where everyone said it would, in the fullbacks playing centre.

Dugan had room to put his winger into a bit of space twice but chose to run back in towards Papali, at least he got smashed.

Surely Walker in game 2 for Dugan and someone, anyone, maybe even Turbo (who looked good enough last year in the centers) for Hayne and Hayne to the wing for Morris.

Against expectations, I actually really enjoyed watching that first half, probably because the whistleblowers stayed out of it and the game had a phenomenal pace as a result. (Side note: I think it took 19 minutes before I saw anybody play the ball correctly but I guess it's a trade off…)

I hate to say it but Qld's best forward in the first half was Nate Myles.....when he was on.

Just on Fatty.....he's not there to be fair and impartial. If you want him to shut up then have him commentate Manly vs Chooks games.

It seems somebody had a word to Teddy about getting more involved in attack and backing up. Hope he continues it because there will be opportunities for him

Exactly what we needed... Teddy ay dummy half on the last and deciding to pause before passing to the kicker...😵

Speaking of Myles did anyone pick up a possible eye gouge on Hayne as he was getting up to play the ball. Plenty of footage on twitter, took a few screenshots, didn't look good.

It does my head in. Playing club full backs at center when you have two gun centers walker and jack bird who coukd play there. Hayne is still devastating on the wing. Teddy is our number 1
