Onward to Perth – Time to Bounce Back! 🦅

WAMF

Just another plodder
Alright, that was a tough one to watch yesterday. No sugarcoating it. Melbourne got the better of us and we looked out of sorts. But footy seasons aren't defined by a single game or even two games. What matters is how we respond and this Saturday in Perth is the perfect chance to bounce back!

We've got history on our side with 4 wins from 6 on the West coast and there’s something about our WA sunshine that brings out the best in the boys. It's a new week, a fresh challenge and I reckon the lads will be fired up to make a statement against the Sharks.

I’ll be there at Optus Stadium flying the flag and I hope to see plenty of Maroon & White in the stands! I think there are 3 dedicated Sea Eagles Bays that are choc-a-block.

Plenty of footy left in this season and I'm backing Seibs and the team to come out with intent and pride. Let's rally behind them. Perth has been good to us and it's time to make it 5 from 7!

Up the Mighty Sea Eagles! 🦅

I would give "Like" as well as "Optimistic" if I could.
Cronulla have 3 days longer turnaround (massive) - as well as a stronger forward pack.

Mate, we can't cry over spilled milk. We dropped our guard yesterday against a benchmark outfit. You can't do that and expect to be competitive, let alone get a win. Plenty of hard lessons learned.
Sharks do have an advantage but this weekend will be a test of resilience.
Manly are always stronger when their backs are to the wall.

They also have big hard-running backs.
But Manly's advantage (believe it or not!) will be in the halves. Perth conditions should suit Manly (not that I've seen the weather forecast!)

I think we can beat the Sharks as well feathered friend
We need a good win to bounce back up
We are all feeling a bit down
We are only Happy when our Manly Wins

Melbourne was white hot yesterday, I doubt anyone would have beat them yesterday.
Next week will define our season and if we are a fractured team.
Get the win then we finish top 8 and possibly top 4.

Not winning and I expect we will struggle for the rest of the year and finish around 13th to 14th.
The players and coaching staff will be saying everything is all good publicly but I'm not so sure it is.

I'm not feeling down.
I'm sorry to hear you are feeling down. Why not try finding more people to blame and ridicule such as Croker and Seibs and Mestrov. A bit of ridicule and blaming is a tried and true method to make yourself feel better.
I’m feeling down. I hate losing. Fuks the entire week up. Then again, nothing that a good win the next weekend won’t fix.

The disappointing part was, it was a Real test to see where Manly are at and unfortunately...well behind the yardstick Melbourne like most sides and to not handle the key moments after conceding a penalty or error is the main factor to improve on.
I stated in another thread about an incident at 18 - 10 that went against Manly and it was not an excuse, in fact I don't blame the "moment" or the bad call, more Manly's ability to handle that bit of adversity, as against your Top teams it's all about how you overcome a bad call, mistake, injury ect and if you can't adjust instantly, you will be burned and leak a quick 12-20 points against the bestter teams and it's Game Over....
In saying that, Storm beat any team convincingly based on yesterday, the loss to Illawarra had them "UP" and I doubt any team stops them in that mood.
Fact is, Storm are a machine and you know what they are gunna bring, Manly like a few other teams are in the running, but lack the mental steel and fall away in the grind, which is a problem that unless fixed, will see us stay in that "next bunch down" from the true contenders.
The Cronulla game will not be much easier as they have a Strong pack who will be out for redemption and they had a poor showing this weekend also....bring on Saturday afternoon and let's get the 2 points in Perth !!

Sharks are too big and too strong. We have a short turn around + injuries to key players = Manly on toast. Sharks by 30+

That's the spirit mate. So much death-riding going on here.
The Storm are the best team in the comp. There were portions of the game where we were super competitive. We did let our guards down during a couple of periods of the game and they punished us hard.
I have a good feeling about this weeks game.

Flying to Perth on Friday.

Got a Swan River cruise to a winery and some chocolate joint on Sunday.

Saturday is free at this stage. Any suggestions?
The game is on Saturday at 1pm local time. Meet me at the Camfield for a beer at 11.

Is this a Sharks home game?

Future planning 😆
Funny you mention future planning.
Saw on the news last night that the NRL wants a $300 mil license fee for a new WA franchise.
That isn't going to happen. Clearly that's an intentional disincentive.
There will be no new Perth team unless an established team relocates. No doubt precisely what the NRL wants.
To me it's crazy given that our tax dollars are going to the NRL to establish a team in PNG as a form of 'soft diplomacy' aka, bribery.

Free chocolate at the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, West Swan.

A $20 sauna for 1 hour at Hillarys Boat Habour.

Yanchep National Park.
Rottnest Island is Quokka city

Waddell will the out suspended so we should get to watch Navale play in the top 17. From all reports he is a better option anyway.
TT2 is missing again, I believe, so Ray should slot into Saab's wing spot.
This is going to be a very hard match to win. I vividly remember the Sharks smashing us at Brookie last season when we had a lot to play for. And Cronulla was without AFB.
I fear we are in for a rocky few weeks.
