Onus of proof

Last week I made a statement. The statement was that my depression was a result of marijuana use at university. 100% of readers seem to think that this could well be a very likely explanation. The Prime Minister of Australia thinks likewise.

It is also an opinion of one of the pre-eminent experts in Australia who has intimately examined my case.

However, we have our own resident expert in Daniel Hewes who seems to think it is not a sufficient explanation AND, despite the fact that my explanation is perfectly understandable to the vast majority of this site and the nation’s PM, wants to place the onus of proof on me?

This is a nonsense.

My case is available for examination at any point that is convenient. But I think we can all see the sense of where the REAL onus of proof lies.

I totally agree Matabele, in the space of a couple of months some years ago two friends of mine died (sucicide) from depression, my ex boss who had a long standing condition hung himself and the other a former cricket team mate was undiagnosed but was known to be a regualr escasty user.

It can impact anyone unexpectably and is very hard to overcome for some people.
