Sorry bozo, I usually side with you on most things unlike many on here, but not on this one. No one is arguing that a good team cant overcome ref bias, but the point is we shouldn't have to. There is zero doubt in my mind that referees have just as big an influence on most games as dropped balls and missed tackles. Close games come down to the 50/50s, and that's where refs can and do dictate the outcome.

things will also go our way . IE; 40-20 kicks , passes that sticks and shots for goal we don't miss .

I hope we play that well that Cecchin isn't a factor............but i'm also willing to bet a large amount of cash that if it's a close loss, Cecchin will have something to do about it!!!

I cannot see a close Manly win with him running the game!

On a positive note we had Checchin round 22 against the Roosters. I thought he was ok that day.

The stats don't lie..............the fact is we win 40% of our games with that pr*** Perenara refereeing but that goes to 60% when its NOT that pr*** Perenara

Our -18.7% differential is not even comparable to any sort of standard deviation.
The next worst is -11.6%.
No other referee has a similar stat with any team!


He has wild differentials with a few teams, which simply doesn't stack up statistically.
He clearly has teams he favours and teams he is against

Wonder how much of it has to do with his f***ing NRL playing days?
It's a joke, he simply should not be refereeing NRL!

So the biggest winning differential is in favour of one of the teams he played for. I suppose he did play for nearly a third of all the clubs in the NRL, but such large margins seems quite unusual.

Don't want to give these clowns their own topic so will put it in here. They were abysmal tonight, that forward pass call was a shocker, it was 3m further backwards than the final Tigers try awarded against us a few weeks back

But the worst ever for me, and Cecchin shouldn't be seen in 1st grade again this season over this call, is sending a try upstairs to check if the try scorer was in front of the play the ball. Wasn't a problem because he played it !!

Toss on top of that Jakes try, they saw the ball on the ground but still sent it up, was nothing close to wrong with it, and also when Wright got pinged for offside a metre behind the kicker

Agree mate had these exact same thoughts. The forward pass call was an absolute howler. At least the pocket ref called sense on Jakes try and Chechen went with it. In all fairness we won and our dominance wasn't really overshadowed by the refs trying to bring the cats back into the game.

I think we've been pinged for a forward pass incorrectly every game since they let that NFL lob from tommy t go several weeks ago. They must have it written in their little form guide - 'manly good for one forward pass per game, especially in lead up to try.'

Cecchin was sending it up as a NO TRY so we would have been burnt on that without the pocket ref's intervention!
