Love your Ruthless work feathered friendMeanwhile at Belmore, Redfern, Brisbane and in the City, they continue to buy whoever they want. So sick of this salary cap bullsh!t that gets trotted out. Someone at our joint needs a new calculator for Xmas.

Can see your point, but am loathe to loose any of our backline. In the meantime it's Talau coming of the bench until the inevitable backline injury rears its ugly head again. It is not the amount of money they are costing that is the issue ... we can pay it ... BUT rather than paying for 7 backline stars ... letting one go for a cheaper replacement and spending the difference on a prop or second row upgrade is a better option .
Salary cap is about balance ... not total amount.

We will inevitably have injuries to our backs this year - just like any other year. It's not a question of 'do we need / can we afford these backs' - it's just a matter of how soon in the season we will need them. Like always.
The article appears to be written by someone who wants to dis-member and weaken Manly, or at least to alert other teams that 'Manly's got good backline players - they are ripe for the picking'.
I'm tired of these 'not so hidden agenda' stories.
You don't think Lehi asking for say .. $900k per season as an emerging superstar doesn't or won't change the maths ?
Can’t agree. The club and the media are aware that we will have injuries, but a club’s long term injury cover is typically not an expensive seasoned first grader or a rookie that’s already an International and one of the hottest properties in the game. It might work a year or two but eventually something has to give, similar to the Suli to Saints deal. These guys want to be walk up starts not the NSW Cup for a month at a time. It’s completely valid and highly likely that unless we decide to transition someone into the forwards, we won’t be able to keep them all long-term, regardless of desire. They’ll all want a regular starting position and they can all command a decent wage for an outside back.We will inevitably have injuries to our backs this year - just like any other year.
