My recollections of that G F win for Manly . Almost heat wave conditions. Cliffy weaving his magic . Kevin Ward playing a blinder after just arriving from an English autumn . Bozo Fulton"s shrewd use of Sub . Paul Shaw to run from dummy half through some tired Raiders forwards . Rowdy Shearer [ an old team mate of mine actually at a regional club level before he hit the big time ] playing a solid game from full back . A proud captain on the day in Fatty Vautin . I still think that Manly should have won more titles in the Eighties with some of the quality teams that they had but this 87 side was also a quality team , very deserving winners and of course were good enough to secure one title for the Sea Eagles from that 80"s decade .

I remember that we bombed about 5 tries & should have won by a lot more.
