    Do they mean as a hybrid of the two? A hyrid of those two would be:

    Someone who can't read and has to pay to get a root?

    Maybe a hybird could be a injury prone neanderthal like creature who can't concentrate hard enough to start a fire after continually sneaking off to chew on the cocco leaves.
