Hey people I'm just back from the pub and smashed a plate of mussels washed down with a fine savvy blanc and was wondering, who do you guys reckon lost NSW the match more?

Cleary was obviously terrible and should be pushed towards the "Mitchell Pearce - don't not fkn pick again both he and his old man are overrated" corner. But he was valiantly assisted by "drop ball miss tackle please never kick again throw intercept pass" Wighton. Guy was terrible. Did not like.

I think the savvy blanc might be messing you up there mate. Wighton needs to start, not off the bench.
Apart from the last 5 minutes, Latrell was awful. He was so passive compared to what he usually is. They spotted him in defence. I was expecting an Inglis-like performance from him tonight. Hopefully it's a one off, and he comes back stronger in the second game.

Walker, out of his depth, won’t get another jersey and got hooked!
Wighton, should never have been picked. Good choice Freddy, oh Canberra have won a few let’s pick a raider!
Cleary, chronic dud and should never have been picked.
Fitter, joke of a coach and only won last year cos qld lost all their troops and picked Hunt at 7.
Seriously Qld should have put 30 in them tonight. Feel bad for Jake, Cook and Ted cos the rest are ****e!

Don't even know why it's a poll.. One is an out of form halfback selected because they need to fabricate the next great halfback, and was a complete passanger for 80 minutes and his last touch literally cost Them the game.. The other is an average player who played.. What, 15 minutes off the bench?? Sure, he cost them a try, but what was really expected of him in such a limited role???

That kick charge down was something else

They even said in commentary that he took way too much time to kick the ball. If Gillett had gotten a better bounce.....things could have gotten interesting because while he might not have scored, most of the NSW players were already heading towards where the kick should have been downfield.

Cleary's kicking game was good, I'll give him that, but otherwise he was a non event. Although, he was better than Walker who did one thing all night. One thing.....which was his pass for Jake's try. Neither NSW half had any real influence on the game though, not like DCE and Munster.

due to early starts in the morning i only watched the first half & at half time i thought qld would run away with it.
cleary mustn't look at the opposition much because after cook made a break then passed to teddy, he was tackled and cleary was on the open side. he got the ball, qld had them outnumbered 2 to 1 yet he kept going that way.
if the went left nsw had a massive overlap and to make it worse they went the same way again next tackle.
cleary = no vision

The kicking game was what killed us in the end ,I don't think we got 1 repeat set ,not one ,Cleary quite and Walker maybe not up to it,
Laterall is iether injured or sooking for some reason he is not the same player he was a month ago .
Munster allowed to run riot and DCE was magnificent with the set ups and kicking game ,While Ponga got all the glory shots I thought DCE was the MOM with his defence passing and kicking ,The use of the bench wasn't good Jake seemed to be off for an extended period for some reason and our fowards seemed to run out of steam and i think that is down to our terrible kicking and bad use of bench.

Cleary was ok and did what he was asked to do, was far from the problem last night

Walker was ****, never liked his selection in the first place, don’t think his style cuts it, and it proved to be the case and was good to see the hook come out

Mitchell was atrocious, Crighton shouldn’t be there and he showed that, Cotric was a non event and Haas was nowhere near the hype that he has created

Walker and Mitchell were our worst. Wighton wasn’t great. Cleary’s general kicking was good; but, he isn’t the leader in the halves that is needed. I think we will see Maloney come back into the side for Walker.

Latrell looks like he has stuff going on - he is way better than what he showed.

Tom will come back into the side, Cotric ran well but struggled in defence a bit. It would be hard to drop Morris as he played well.

We didn’t make use of our edge back rowers - that probably comes down to our halves.

Agree on all here Kiwi but a still though Cleary was ordinary. But to be fair given what we now know about his game and form, what were we to expect.

Munster and DCE were the difference. Our halves weren’t up to Origin standard and out defence out wide was very poor with Carr caught too far in field leading to tries in the corner. The tell in respect of how well you utilise the bench is in the second half and IMO Fittler got that wrong. Injuries affected the selection of this squad and a few of the lads were not up to the task. The Manly boys were head and shoulders above the majority on the field. Jake is a machine and DCE is pure class.

Clearys poor short kicking game cost us at least 1 try last night.
Teddy was in the Qld in goal with Ponga way out of position.
Kick rolls dead by metres.
Poor stuff.

Teddy would have scored 4 tries if DCE was a Blue.

OK, hold on while I just put this helmet on and get under the table... right, good to go...

Totally agree he got that kick wrong and stuffed up a golden opportunity but otherwise I thought cleary was strong last night... his midfield kicking was very effective and I thought cook was responsible for most of the ineffective short kicks in the 20m zone... NC got the ball to his centers early and was VERY good in defense which is a LOT more than can be said for Walker and even Cook on a couple of occasions...
I am not a NC fan boi and I thought Maloney carried him thru the 2018 SOO series but I thought he was our most solid half easily last night (wasn't a lot of competition)... totally acknowledge that he didn't have a game anywhere near DCE or Munster tho and we need him to lift for game 2...
