I recall Scott Penn assuring everyone that there were going to be very strict controls in place to stop Des having too much power around salary cap and back end deals etc this time four years ago when Des signed for three years.

I think what happened was that Penn moved to the USA and the ceo’s kept leaving so in the end Des ended up with full control again via default.

Hmm I am sure a younger lawyer will be making similar demands if they are representing Des.
Anyway it is standard practice to request an over the top amount… both parties will want to avoid going to court and Des is entitled to a payout. This will cost the club a lot of cash at least $500 750k imo. Penn better be paying this himself…. the price you pay for wearing the big pants…

It's easy to say a good coach should be able to coach any sqaud, But Coaches are individual's with individual game plans and like to coach a certain way.
To be Successful they need a certain type of player in each position to play to that particular style he's implementing.

Definitely time for change great to have a past coach as new coach and assistant.Bit of a rebuild on and off field but I certainly think it's exciting times ahead I think ,may not be straight away but in time . Interested to see Canberra doing similar with Michael Maguire appointment
