NRL Games [Round 5, 2025]

That pass from Latrell was 2 metres forward, the ref and linesmen have been awful in calling the forward pass tonight.
I thought that too although the commentators certainly didn't seem to! Mitchell planted his lead foot if I saw correctly on the 10m line when he threw that, and the catcher certainly seemed to take it 2m inside the 10.... but OK it's in the records now.....

DCE will be in a rorter jersey by Rd 10. Just wait for the next media orchestrated blow up where he'll try to force Manly into releasing him.

This win was a testament to Great coaching by Bennet
He lifted his 14 Men above Adversity to Defeat the17 Men Roosters team

Souths defied all odds
They lost both their starting halves and play makers including their winger
They had to reshuffle their players all over the field
They had to play with 14 Men
They had disruptions but they were never deterred and were never discouraged
They had to put themselves in a position to find a way to win
And that they did .

I said this earlier in the week
The 2025 trophy is well and truly up for grabs
Penrith & Melbourne are not indestructible
The door is open. If only we were up to it this year. I can't see it, but happy to be proved wrong on Sunday.

IMO the sin binning of Reece Robson and Izack Tago in last nights early game make a mockery of the game. They were a joke.

Look, I get wanting to protect the health and wellbeing of the players and getting rid of head high shots is one way they are going about it. No one wants players injured or concussed. But IMO they've really taken it too far with this one.

Neither time was there any real forceful contact to the head of the player they tackled, yet both times the tackler was binned. And lets be honest, those tackles were literally no different to about 75% of the other tackles throughout the game that didn't get players binned.

Seriously, if they are going to bin players for tackles like that ... Haumole will last until his first tackle.

Oh, and just on another point to do with this. If a player is going to be sent to the bin for 10 minutes for allegedly forceful contact to the head, then the tackled player should have to come off for a HIA, after all they've apparently been hit forcefully in the head. Yet neither time last night was either of the tackled players actually checked to see if they even needed a HIA.....

Well said @HoldenV8
Lets bring common sense to the game
and not all these over done ideas

The way I see it you guys are used to playing without Turbo, i have been impressed with Hoppa junior. I dont think you can write off anyone on the day i certainly don't think the Storm are unbreakable

Shaping up as a very interesting comp and most likely a changing of the guard, with the possible exception of Storm. Perennial heavyweights Pennies and Chooks off to a slow start, but having clubs like that near the bottom of the ladder simply highlights that any team can win on the day.
Others that had a poor start are now coming good.
Much as I hate to say it, Dogs are looking good because their style does not seem to depend on one or two stars, it's just a fairly simple approach based on high energy and being well organised. Can they produce that consistently all year? Hope not! @:D

Ciros system seems to be working and the players have developed a hard work ethics, i am very happy with Ciraldo and his professional approach. Still early days, so I dont get my hopes up too much we all know how easy a few injuries can make a team implode. Who knows, maybe it will be Manly v Dogs grand final, it is after all the 20 year anniversary 😃
