NRL Games [Round 3, 2025]

Looking at the nrl basic stats, it reads like the Panthers won most stats, but not the scoreboard.

If Cleary played, they’d have won. Instead they had talented but raw halves…yeah, let’s let DCE walk?!

One guy who has surprised me is Alamotti. Was a gun coming through at the Dogs but for some reason they let him go after a few games. Went to the Panthers, got a shot when someone was injured and has held his spot.
He's pretty short and may not win the 100m sprints but he's turned into an actual gun.
As a wing or centre he is proactive about getting involved and taking hitups (which are always at pace and make metres). Lehi does this too, I reckon Tolu needs to do it a little more.

Yeah I remember Gus and Ciraldo had a big rap on him but I think they landed Crichton and knew they couldn’t keep Averillo or Alamoti from landing better deals elsewhere. They got Xerri for nothing. It was a cap move for certain.

Alamoti is built for the game a barn storming ball runner and solid defender, (a goal kicker, he is not) but I thought there was a more impressive three quarter on display last night, Jack Howarth.

As much as people bang on about our backs, I wish we had a centre three quarter pairing that could eat up meters and help our pack out, our backs may be quick, but there definitely not meter eaters or highly physical defensive types, it’s why Talau should be playing there for us, I’d put Tolu at 1 this week with Lehi outside Tommy.

Our forwards just don’t get enough from our back 5, I’ve said our pack lacks mungrel, well our backs also lack aggression, are poor at carrying out of our end and just lack the physical presence to worry sides, speed is great but our forwards in particular need more from our backs.

I keep going back and forth in between tipping roosters or warriors, just changed it about 3 times in the last 5 mins. I feel like there is a lot of speedsters in warriors, obviously roosters have got a few too as well, depends on if Dom young will do his run up and in defence as well (most likely will) and if the speedsters will run straight past chaddy but will tuapicki be too small and be able to stop the big, tall men on the line, also loved the form of rob toia last two rounds, has a lot of strength. Anyway it's just a tipping comp... right? its not that serious... right? @:D

As a previous tipping comp winner, I can attest that it's the most important thing you'll ever do in your life!!!!

(And it's my wedding anniversary tomorrow...lol)

ps: plus you need family bragging rights.

I agree and I hate to mention this because everyone is now talking about him as a 'man for all seasons' but was wondering why Jamie Humphreys wasn't considered for centre in the Stephen Knight mould. A bit shorter than Knight and 10kgs heavier. The defence would be there, assuming not quick enough?

Agreed but my tipping season is blown by Rd 2. Much like the team I support.
