A good post Simon64. Ultimately we fans control the destiny of the sport. Many are staying away from attending games. Legions of fans have deserted the Olympic Stadium, unless it is a marque game.
While TV networks claim more 'eyes' are on the sport, I've got my doubts.
Did anyone bother to watch the match last night? I didn't - and I count myself as a rusted-on RL supporter.
Too much TV coverage will, imo, damage the sport. It just becomes 'wallpaper'. It's like those singy-singy-dancy-dancy reality shows. Eventually people get sick of them.
