NRL’s fastest player

One thing about Tom Trbojevic ... is it me, or since his return from injury has he ditched the Philly running style and is back to his old, faster style?? Maybe getting that bad hamstring injury this year opened his eyes to that he can be injured either way, so why not just go back to what's comfortable?? He just seems to be running with a lot more freedom than I've seen from him since he went to Philly. And it just so happens to have brought out his form. Not perfect, but he's closer to his 2021 form now than he has been since that Dally M Medal win.

Apparently they brought in another hamstring specialist, this time from the UK, to help him out during this latest one. This is paraphrasing here but iirc apparently Turbo liked him and his approach better and it helped him get in the right mindset. Can't help but think that the American from last year was the reason we had him run and play more conservatively... Him going full charge into the Raiders line and getting folded was genuinely 2021 Turbo making an appearance.

So I’ve just spent some time (could of done something more productive but I digress) on going through each team and some of the fastest players, there is some that I’m not 100% on, some I’ve probably forgot, some that have pace but I haven’t seen enough of them to be sure and some players I’ve cut from the list because I think they’ve lost pace with their age. The ones with the asterisk next to them is for 50m not 100m.

If the distance is 100m that narrows the field a lot.
Of course, acceleration and speed over short distance is just as valuable in NRL.
In fact probably more valuable! Because there's really not many times you'll see one flyer try to run down another over a long distance (such as that great chase by Hammer on Addo-Carr).
