Just received a letter in the mail from the club advising of a general meeting top be held on 27/6/2006 for the purpose of approving the sale of transfer of the clubs premises at Brookvale as well as the car park accross the road.
It further states that the proposed redevelopment of the car park site accross the road cannot proceed because warringah council refused to rezone the land to allow residential development.
It appears that the club is willing to trade the land for a developer to build a new club for them. Sounds like they want to do what the Diggers originally planned.
Sell of part of the land for residential/commercial developement and then retain a new club on part of the property.
It will be interesting to see what eventuates because the land would mostly be suitable as a car yard. Maybe a car yard at the front and a big new club with residential at the back?
