G'day all,The DCE backflip had nothing to do with Tooveys demise. If not for Forans conniving they were both gone. Can we take out of the article that cherry backflipping was part of tooveys demise. He wouldnt unless the footy dept was gorne. Its not said directly but tooves was gone six weeks after this. As was donny.
Does anyone take it differently
I don't get how any of these things contribute to the pathetic defensive efforts we've seen in 2018. I do see them as excuses though, excuses that aren't genuine reasons. Does anyone know if this is actually one of (or the) worst periods in our history? The lack of changes toward fixing our soulless side is depressing to say the least. We have no promises from anyone to suggest they know what the **** to do.It's been a difficult year for all involved. The following would kill off any clubs season:-
Betting scandal
Protracted Salary Cap issue / Bob Fulton v NRL
Blake Green request for release & the aftermath > unable to sign players > Pearce, Moylan
Darcy Lussick blow up with Barrett
Gladstone Strip club / DCE v Hastings
Hastings v Manly
Manase Fainu sex tape
Constant innuendo regarding Taupau, Walker & now Koroisau wanting out.
Long term injuries to key players basically from the start of the premiership & on going > Sironen, Tanginoa, Walker, Koroisau, Croker, Tom T, Taufua, Lussick to name a few.
Continuation of internal bickering
CEO hunting
Constant media bashing
Have I forgotten anything? If the club can pull thru this then boy i'll enjoy watching the team unload their frustrations next year!
If you worked in an environment where everything is going to $hi+ would you be happy & put in? I doubt it! I've worked in a place like that & all I wanted to do was leave & definitely didn't feel like playing ball. All the drama took its toll. All those excuses actually are genuine! I'd like to see your reaction if you were in the players shoes not knowing what's gonna happen tomorrow!I don't get how any of these things contribute to the pathetic defensive efforts we've seen in 2018. Good point although some of these efforts are just simply unacceptable, there have been moments this season where a decent proportion of our side's defensive efforts are nothing short of embarrassing. Many of these players are fighting to save their careers eg. Parker, Suli, Sipley, Winterstein, Hodko, T. Wright and Uate (when he wasn't injured) so you'd have to think they'd show more desperation than they have.If you worked in an environment where everything is going to $hi+ would you be happy & put in? Nothing wrong with pumping Iron feathered friend . This guy pumped all the way to be Governor of CaliforniaA team doesn't go from being dominant for 67 minutes to Under 8s standard for 6 minutes unless they are mentally fragile.
More time spent training their minds; less time spent pumping iron.
