    Nonu eager to swap codes

Dumped All Black Ma'a Nonu, 23, wants to play in the NRL after missing out on New Zealand's Tri Nations rugby union squad.

The barnstorming, 1.83-metre, 99-kilogram utility back has already received "tempting offers" from NRL clubs, according to his manager, Dunedin lawyer Warren Alcock.

Nonu is in the final year of his contract with the Wellington and New Zealand rugby unions.

Ridgepipe obviously wouldn't think much of him.

He'd be great in attack. His defence might need some work (he is a rah rah after all).

Now if we could just get rid of Monaghan to free up $240k and if De Wet Barry happened to come on the market ...............

i guess we would be satisfied if monaghs was getting paid about 120K which is more like what he is worth, so i guess he would be freeing up 120k, which i guess equals another good youngster.

Monas should be getting the $100 000 10 year player exemption under the cap according to the true supporters, plenty of room for Nonu.

I thought Rugby players didn't come under the cap in their first year. Max should offer to pay his contract to offset the other matters!!
