Non-Manly Games [Round 25, 2019]

They get a home final in 5th or 6th I thought.
Yes, I'm sorry to confuse you @

I'm just really irritated at the rort that the Rorters perpetuated to keep Manly out of the Top 4 @

Lets be friends :inlove:

Blessed are the peace makers.... my friend he did the biggest dog shot he went in swinging arm to the back of his head and he went so hard the guys head smashed into the other blokes head and they both got split.. knight looked like he was twitching and his arm went into a spasm.. its not soft its illegal and dirty play.. look at cam murray he smashed them legally and it was brilliant
As I said to Happily Manly I'm talking initial contact.
Knight was falling into a tackle with JWH coming in hard.
And as I said I'll look at it again to see if there was anything else but,
If he is on report for his first contact with a falling player then it's becoming a very tricky game to play.

It was unfortunate what happened to Knight, but JWH couldn’t do much different with a falling player. Bunch of wowsers who think that’s any more than a penalty. The game is not played in frames, but is being adjudicated and referees as if it is.
Maybe JWH should have come in 'softer' not split knight and all would be ok.
That's what it boils down to.
If they want something dangerous pull cordner up for his elbow on Reynolds.
Personally I couldn't give a flying if they suspend the lot of them but what some need to remember is that they wouldn't feel so fantastic if one of ours gets it wrong.

So was AFB when he hit a falling Mitchell Pearce earlier this year. And Addin got a two week holiday.....and Pearce wasn't left on the ground twitching.

JWH doesn't exactly have the best record and that will count against him.....maybe.

IMHO, the rorters should beat the faiders next week as they’ve got Keary and Morris(I think) back in next week, so they’ll have more variation/ options in attack. Sezer(?), again IMHO, and Wrighton don’t offer as much as Cronk and Keary, so I think that they win reasonably easily.

The scum should clean up souff’s, as they’re going to be pretty beat up after that effort.

Assuming we win in week 1, then we’ll face either a team we’ve beaten twice(faiders) or one we’ve shared honours with this year and should be a good shot at week 3 of the finals.

That’s something that I couldn’t reasonably even think about, let alone say, after last season’s finish and before the season started.

I think that that chooks/ bunnies game tonight has done us a lot of favours.

Well that is pretty much our top 4 chances done, not that I am complaining at all - BRING ON A HOME SEMI AT BROOKIE!!

Now I really want us to win (or at least not lose by 12+) so we can stay in fifth, and the Raiders to beat Warriors so Souths can stay in 4th. Then hopefully we win week one of finals, and play Souths in week 2

My initial thought was accidental contact to the head when I watched it. If anything I thought JWH poorly read Liam's backward fall into the tackle. If JWH was looking down at the point of contact I would be more convinced of intent but he seemed to present as second tackler, brace and be looking downfield.
Again, that was my first impressions and would like to watch the running vision at normal speed.

He wasn't simply falling either - he was just about tackled with JWH essentially the 2nd/3rd man in.
He also swings his opposite shoulder around to make contact. Sure it's a contact sport and accidents happen but this was downright reckless and came very close to something very serious and not just for Knight but the future of the game.

Oh I get that. But I’d rather they appear inconsistent in retrospect by not using the incorrect precedent than being consistently wrong.

The damage to knight was the head clash, not the contact from JWH.

He may well get suspended, but in isolation, that is not a tackle worthy of suspension.

They are trying to referee real time and reaction time out of the game. There needs to be a tolerance for adjustments. It’s ludicrous how the game is been officiated these days.

I see it exactly the same.
And I've seen it a few times now.
Yet cordner uses his elbow and Reynolds goes off.
Play on...

Its like afb on Pearce earlier this year.. jwh plays for the roosters so he'll probably get nothing but he should get 2 weeks at least.. i cant stand the grub

It was the contact from JWH that caused the head clash!!!

Yeah but it was purely accidental from jwh to make knight hit Collins. There has to be room in the interpretations of tackling for reaction time and the unpredictability and physics of contact and force.

Using your example above, what happens if an attacker makes a line break and a cover defender wraps them up around the legs forcing them to fall forwards at pace into the knees of the fullback, ive seen it happen many times. The cover defender caused it, should he be cited for a head injury on the fullbacks knee?

I’m not defending JWH, HE does plenty wrong deliberately, I just don’t think it was the case here.

Cordner throat elbow no different to the Storm a couple weeks ago which cause knotted knickers.

If it's not a penalty the AFB should go MMA on Parra.

I get your point, but he made direct contact with his head which led to the incident and even without that Knight would probably have been left concussed. I also don't buy the purely accident part - even at normal speed JWH digs his shoulder in to score a hit on a prone player. If Knight hadn't been falling JWH's shoulder would have gone right into his spine, would that have been any better?
And yes there are 10s of these incidents every game that go unpunished but this one caused a serious injury so yes it will be looked at more closely.
