Can you please read the detailed original post by @The Who and explain how you think the Roosters manage to compile their entire roster and still have $700k left under the salary cap.

No insult at all . Just an opinion that The Roosters are a very well run club and any one that wants to dispute this and think they are corrupt can come up with proof and not conspirasies . I was sick of the tall poppies that had conspirasies about Arko being corrupt when Manly were a successful club .

I once had a sht accountant and I found out just how sht he was when my work colleges were getting a better end of year tax return than I was .

My rooster friend even thinks they’re cheating the cap. It’s the fact that some clubs get treated differently to others is what irks everyone.

Some clubs get looked after and some hammered. We sadly are one that gets hammered. Certainly agree with Ken, he was the best. Most of the people who criticised him were just Manly haters.

I remember the mid 90’s so many people would say we got an easy draw because of Arko or decisions our way etc. what they didn’t realise was John Quayle ran the Competition at the time and Arko ran the International game. They didn’t care, just hatred against us.

I don’t hate the roosters, I’ve been a regular to their games every year from 1980 until about 2015 and then cut down to 2 games a year. I don’t go as much but have kept my membership up with them. They are certainly professionally run and i have spoken to them a few times over the years and their membership team are very good and helpful....we can call it better run but I’d also say it’s due to more money to employ more staff. I don’t know if the staff are better but they certainly have more help to look better.

Anyway, while the NRL turn a blind eye to how they operate, they will continue with what they do (and why wouldn’t they?).

If they had all their computers confiscated, officials had their personal phones and computers confiscated and their players had their mobile phones confiscated, they’d be under a bit of pressure then. Mind you, the roosters would be rich enough to give them 2 sets each. One for themselves and another for their wife,girlfriend or parent.

It infuriates everyone else in the world of league fans but nothing any of us can do. Uncle Nick is loved by everyone who meets him so can’t see any enemy wanting to divulge anything to anyone regarding any dodgy deals.

I can’t see anything changing with them for years.

In these days of self assessment, you can virtually write your own refund cheque... subject to later review by the ATO. How happy would you be if you initially got a giant refund cheque only to be subject to paying penalties double the amount avoided?

The more money you’ve got, the greater the means you have to hide your dodgy dealings.

Just on those few players mentioned in the original post: Crichton is a clear upgrade on Napa, and BOTH Morris and Hall are clear upgrades on Ferguson. Crichton especially was a guy being chased by plenty of clubs, and Souths were keen to keep him as well - but ding ding, just like always, Uncle Nick gets his man.

Just like Cronk was a very clear upgrade on Mitchell Pearce, and numerous other examples every year in the past, and they’ll keep coming as long as this corrupt system continues. Other teams are forced to shed players post-premiership, but the Rorters can just keep adding and upgrading, adding and upgrading - and we’re supposed to just go “nothing to see here, very well run club, tootle-pip old fruit”. My arse.

Here’s a tip: people who have a modicum of intelligence and the ability to spot when they’re being sold a dummy aren’t conspiracy theorists. Some of us just have better-calibrated bull**** detectors than yours - we can recognise when we’re being given the mushroom treatment (ie kept in the dark and fed ****).

Until we have a points cap, with each player’s points value determined by a transparent, independent tribunal process, the degradation of the game will continue just the way it’s going now - with some animals more equal than others. And eventually all the fans with an ounce of sense will have walked away completely, and it’ll just be the mushrooms left - which is probably what the NRL wants, TBH.
