No reliance on last weeks performance

Loobs

Living in the demountable.
It will likely be cooler and wet on Saturday arvo so it will be a completely different game for us (putting aside the fact that we are playing Souths away so it literally is a completely different game for us).

Ball control will be key. I think our fitness is on point so we can stay in a grinding battle, just need to hold on to the ball and limit dumb penalties for them out of their own end.

Complacency after last week will be our biggest threat, but supercoach TBaz should've banished any though of another easy win from the players' minds.

Can guarantee that dumb penalties against us will be a major feature on Sat. Can't have the pride of the league 0-3.

"we can't get carried away from our last win"

"we're only as good as our next game"

'We have to play it 1 game at a time'

'Souths will be tough this weekend'

"it's a crunch game for Souths"

"The forwards will need to lay the platform"

"it's all about the one percenters"

"they need to respect the ball"

"a good start is essental to our chances"

"we need to dig deep in defence"

'If we stick to our guns, we'll come up trumps'

While we do look fit, we did play the same up-tempo game last week and ended up tiring out halfway through the season. There were some games where we did a lot of defence and then looked shot in attack. There were good signs of not letting up even late in the game last Sunday, but the jury is still out on whether we keep it up or fall back to our old ways. Let's hope that Baz has the boys primed up to keep it going though 🙂

interesting how Baz manages the week after playing in cracking hot conditions, I'd potentially suggest the guys need longer to recover, however then needs to get them up for this game.

We are a great dry track afternoon footy team as we have great attack , based on offloads , speed and chancing the arm. Previously we have struggled with footy smarts adapting to different conditions.

Our spine is maturing slowly. Not sure if we have come far enough yet . Time will tell.

Honestly we are a hard team to predict as our best and worst performanes and very far apart. We are racking up more good ones but when we are off we can be pretty poor, off last years results

Im not even considering this years form. Its been 2 games.

Also if cherry plays the knights like he played the eels we win by a long way again as the effort was there.

Apart from errors like drop balls we kind of know what we get every week from every player. Cherry is the biggest variable in our team and our team performane mirrors his generally.

If cherry mature into the player we hope he will, his team will be successful and a lot of our players will play rep footy.

The pressure was thrust upon him when we lost decades of experience all at once , but the coin he wanted piled it on as well. The pressure and paycheck came a few years earlier than it probably should of , but he now has to grow up fast.

Tommy turbo will feel the same expectations very soon i feel but he is probably progressing at a faster rate given his age and experience

Souths will be up for it, so will need to strangle them into submission and have the team to do just that.

The pressure is more so on them not us , no reynolds and mistake riddled Tom and George Burgess is the key to a Manly victory. Do the little things right and i see a comprehensive win.

Stop cook and we will go along way to winning this game..
If the blokes who played the ball like a game of touch at times for Cook to scoot are slowed down and controlled, he won’t get that latitude behind the ruck to take off.

I imagine early nights for plenty of rest, plenty of drinking water too replace lost fluids, and 5 minutes before kick off.....sculling a redbull or two for t3hat extra zip.

Love to see Darcy join up with Taupau, Perret, Tanga, AFB & Lane do battle with Burgess' x3
6 against 3 is fair in Manly colours.

Just once I'd love to hear a footballer give a non-cliched interview......
Imagine DCE,.....'Yes we were absolutely brilliant against the Eels....seriously we whipped their ass!.....I mean if you ask me I can't see us getting beat anytime soon. As for the Rabbits, we are red-hot certainties....I mean look at them, their a rabble, we'll stich them up the same way we did the Eels....'

True. Most of the interviews are so full of cliches it's funny. I know we are in hot form but we shouldn't discount the Rabbits. For me Damien Cook and Cody Walker are very dangerous. Cook in particular is very good at engaging the line and making good metres from dummy half. He's also no slouch in defence. Whilst I'm confident I'm still wary of their capability.
